IT is looking really bleak for UF next year if Dickerson and Allen both get out of LOI.

Allen said he's gonna announce his decision Thursday, but you're more then likely right. I'm guessing Arky has an open spot since Portis and Qualls left?

@gatorhoops: If/when Allen saga ends, will be interested to see if White puts condition on LOI release not to go an SEC school. I would #Gators

Dick thing to do for a kid that's never stepped a foot on campus as a student. Especially since he could still go to Arkansas regardless.

This generally doesnt end well for the school when they pull stuff like this...ESPECIALLY after a major coaching change I dont understand how you do that.

Gator fans have had the same coach for 2 decades so I guess they haven't watched the climate of college basketball and these LOI's.
Almost all school allow their guys to go anywhere else.
Florida sold them on a product (top coach at top university) and didn't deliver. Telling them they can't sign in the SEC would be a serious shame.
Those kind of conditional releases are really only executed for transfers.

Yes. He de committed, because he wouldn't likely much if any immediate playing time thee in year one. He listed a final 2 of UF and LSU before committing to UF. His reason for choosing UF was Donavan. His comments were very clear about that.

Dickerson nearly got kicked out of his high school last week according to a guy that gets most basketball info right.
I have to see if I can find out why he was in jeopardy of being expelled.

So you have a coach saying he isn't begging anyone to stay but they feel he might restrict a recruit from going certain places? That's low rent
Plus, you can't beg someone to stay that isn't even there yet.

I think it's an SEC rule that restricts someone who signed an LOI to one school from going to another member school without sitting out a year. If my understanding is right, he'd have to get a waiver from Birmingham, not Florida.
