If people would stop trying to come up with conspiracy theories about every damn thing and use a little sense...maybe the fact that Denzel is already there, and a good chance that Robert will too mean that his Dad would try to get a job nearby?

From the Clarion Ledger today, it states that RN's dad applied for a position that he was qualified for in Spring 2012. Here are some other quotes from the article:

quote:

The Mississippi Legislature’s Joint Committee on Performance Evaluation and Expenditure Review (PEER) has looked into the situation but is not investigating, said director Max Arinder.

quote:

John Infante, author of the Bylaw Blog and a former college compliance director, doesn’t expect the NCAA to get involved, though he did call it an “extremely gray area.” “If I had to guess considering some of the things the NCAA has refused to touch in the past this looks more benign than things they haven’t touched,” Infante said. “My thought is nothing will come of this.

Article from Clarion Ledger

Nothing out of the ordinary and nothing will come of this.

The same school that is starting this crap is the same school that offered Cecil Newton a bag full of cash and let its wide receivers coach go this year for recruiting issues.

This story is so silly. Maybe his Dad took the job in Jackson, MS so that he could be close to RN when he goes to LSU. Baton Rouge is about the same distance from Jackson as Oxford is. That way it does look as fishy than if he would take a job in LA.

I guess we committed another recruiting violation when Denzel went home during the "quiet period" and had conversations with his brother. Better not tell the NCAA.

Fact - The person that would be responsible for hiring Mr Nkemdiche has a walk-on kid on OM's team and is a huge rebel fan.

Fact - He's given the "he's very qualified" statement -- and has put in for FEDERAL GRANTS to obtain a NEW POSITION -- in the specialty of Mr Nkemdiche.

There may not be anything come of it -- but if it quacks like a duck, quite often, it is a duck.

Oh there's no doubt that this is all done in order to get Robert. But nothing's going to ever come of it because nobody is going to talk.

This thread is evidence that State fans have nothing positive to discuss regarding the state of their program.

Good times.

I'm with you on that...

And I'm good with the move. But with Robert, you had better be extra vigilant to avoid the appearance of inproriety in any way. That's what I've said on SPS that WIO is somehow trying to twist into me "bashing" OM. I've said this all along -- neither of us have ever faced the scrutiny that is coming when he inevitably signs with OM.

The thing is -- it's this Dr. Summers cat that better be very careful. In ethics hearings, proving improriety is not really necessary -- just the appearance of it is enough to face pretty stiff problems...

Agreed 100%.
Don't know why State fans are so upset - it's not like they would not have done the same thing.

I have heard that the latter part of this part of the story is false. Dr. Summers really doesn't give a shite about OM football.

This is dumb and smells of desperation out of Starkville. It amazes me how much they judge themselves on our success.

I agree that this thread is dumb unless they find something. Its worth taking a look at. Or maybe they already have looked, like pank said. Now what is this desperation coming out of starkville you speak of? From what i have read, this has nothing to do with starkville.

"Summers said that he's since applied for another grant studying African-American heart failure, but is uncertain whether or not he will receive the grant since grant applications are highly competitive. "If he was available," Summers said, "he would be a great fit. He's extremely well-qualified for the job."

Technically that was a quote, but that's besides the point. Such a fact doesn't prove anything regarding a recruiting violation at all.

I pretty sure that the Dark Ages, WWI and WWII, Vietnam, and global warming all originated out of Starkville. They are always the first suspect.
