I honestly don't see this as accurate at all. AJC guy is just trying to stir up shite. Now if someone said this about Kiffin or Dooley I'd buy it but Jones gives off a vibe that is the polar opposite of those two. Everything we've heard from recruits and their parents has been about how positive the staff is. Even Scott talked about the difference between his in-home with Jones and Spurrier. Spurrier went the 'you don't want to go to UT route' whereas Jones sold the program. My guess is that coaches go negative for the same reason politicians do -- it's a decent last ditch strategy when you're behind in a race but if you're bad at it then it tends to backfire.

That said if by good at negative recruiting the critics mean 'sneaky, crafty, having a plan' or whatever then 'go team!' I don't have a real problem with it. However, saying we're all negative just doesn't jibe with anything about this recruiting cycle and I've spent far too many hours following it closely.
