Way too much time left to bump this thread.

Why? Do you expect A&M to compete for the West this fall?

Tennessee has proven you don't have to compete for titles to have good recruiting classes.

So, you don't wish to discuss A&M recruiting? Okay.

Well, it appears to me that it did, but that's just my opinion.

You've posted on the board like 3 times in the past month, and you are complaining about post quality and "how good it used to be." It was good back in the day, back before A&M joined the SEC and you and your Aggie buddies showed up. I am sorry if my opinions and bumping a thread about changes to your recruiting staff in on a recruiting board piss you off so much. Maybe if I go start 20 Kyle Allen GOAT threads over on the SECr, you will like me more.

I love all your reasons backing up that opinion.

Do you even know which area Beaty recruited for us?

Myles Garrett, Speedy Noil, Ricky Seals-Jones just off the top of my head. There are three of your biggest recruits just from the past few classes. A&M was killing it in recruiting 2013-2014 and was doing well for most of the 2015 cycle. Aggie fans were pumped about hauling another top 5 class, trolling LSU fans about 2 for 5, etc. Those were the good ole days I suppose. Around the time that Beaty took the Kansas job, A&M's recruiting stalled. A flip here, a couple of expected commits to other schools, and a finish outside of the top 10.

There is still a lot of time left, but things aren't looking all that great for this class either, are they? Are you guys still counting on Chief to go out and pick up a few that didn't already have A&M at their tops of their lists? You can pretend that everything is fine in Aggie land and that Beaty was no loss and Chavis is a miracle worker if you want, but don't cry when people talk about what is currently happening.

Recruiting finished fine. We missed on a couple targets, but that was more about finishing 8-5 than Beatty leaving.

Beatty had a slight affect on Lodge, but idk that he would have came here anyway, when he decommitted Sumlin took a shot at him publically.

This year is going just fine.

He was more responsible for recruiting the Dallas Metroplex than any particular position.

Our season was also kinda a let down, that is what hurt recruiting.

And it wasn't hurt that bad, we still ended up with a class better than our historical average by a lot

Honest answer is we don't know. A full cycle without Mack Brown means early recruiting in Texas is dead. A lot of the top guys remain uncommitted and will be until near the end. Our season matters a lot.

I don't think anyone is counting on Chief doing anything but putting a top 80 defense on the field this season. We have other guys who can recruit.

Did losing Beaty hurt in recruiting? I think a little big yeah, he was kinda a rock star. On the other hand his position (WR) underperformed and dropped a lot of balls last season.

Would I take a little worse recruiting today for a few less dropped balls during the season? Heck yeah, because that would translate to wins, which is what we need to really bring in a good class.

The real truth is that our move to the SEC, and JFF's Heisman season, no longer is driving the bus. We need some results to get kids to sign on, and Beaty alone wasn't going to get around that.

We have gotten to this point of Sumlin's career on smoke and mirrors, but now he has two seasons to deliver or he will lose his job. Clock is ticking.

Dude, you're flaming so hard and getting no where.

Erick fowler wasn't really a target, we offered but we haven't been recruiting him. Even a non biased LSU fan on that thread called that.

Yall are about to get Thornton too, both great pickups for Yall
Those are guys texas was recruiting hard.
