Name the last elite NFL back to come from these schools?

LSU has had a RB start for and win a Super Bowl in 06. Addai was elite coming out of college and high school

Steven Ridley was 2nd in rushing in the NFL and started for the Super Bowl runner ups last season

Alexander played at bama in the 90's
Richardson has played one year and rushed for less than 1000 yards.

The poster talked like bama and Lsu had been pumping out a ton of elite backs recently and they just haven't.

He did not say active RB .

I don't see why past runningbacks would matter tho. No one on our current coaching staff coached or helped Lewis or Henry go to the NFL, just like no one on Bama's current staff coached or helped Shaun Alexander.

If I'm not mistaken, Saban has put in 3(about to be 4) rbs in the NFL. Glenn Coffee, Ingram, and Richardson. Coffee has already retired and Ingram has been a bust so far. Richardson was great last year tho, he carried that Browns team.

I'm a huge Colts fan and love Addai, but he was a very mediocre back in the NFL. He fit Peyton's system well since he never fumbled and would usually give you a solid 3-4 yards, but he isn't a game changer. There is a reason he isn't on a NFL team right now.

oh? I did? Reading comprehension isn't your strong suit is it, alabama-man? And I named 3 UT RB's in the same time period - pretty sure the point still stands.

An elite RB that can't average 67 yards a game or 4 ypc?

Oh I am sorry . You are just the tard that butted in to say "answer the question." Which was ..."name a elite Bama RB". Which I did. Thanks for playing.

I think he has the potential and has a good chance to be, but he is not yet.

I hope he does well cause I really like the way he plays.

Honestly believes TR was among the elite RBs last season. Even average backs break 1000 yards since they are given 16 games to do so.

I just wanted the latest elite back to prove that UT has produced as many or more great backs over the past ten years.

I really just wanted to show the Miss St. fan he doesn't have a clue what he's talking about.

I'm sure VolNation has nearly crashed with news of this.

This argument about who is putting elite backs in the NFL recently is absurd.

UT can make no claim on Foster. Have all the pride about him being a former Vol all you want, but he was in no shape or form seen as an elite back coming out of college, he became elite in the pros.

On the other hand, Bama has been pumping them out here lately. Back to back 1st rounders, and a could be 1st rounder this year. What they do once they get in the pros has no bearing on the program.

UT's pitch right now looks like, "Come here and you can underachieve, then make it big in the pros."

Bama's pitch right now looks like, "Come here and wind up in the first round."

That said, Hurd made the right decision. I for one am happy to see UT getting studs. The game, the SEC, and October are all better when UT is playing well. Good get.

Foster is already on the scrap heap anyway.
