I must say, I was hoping for this, but wasn't holding my breath.

Isn't his dad on South Carolina's staff?

Yes, RB coach. I think this one has been in the bag for a while now. Probably since Bobby signed to coach here back in December.

Like upstate said, RB coach, this is his first position gig at the D1 level but he was a absolute beast when coaching at Byrnes high. He's proving to be quite the recruiter as well in a short period of time. I'm not talking about Jake either, I think Muschamp handled his recruiting personally. What we are waiting on now is to see if Jake moves back to SC for his senior year or not. If so, that's huge. Having a big time QB def helps you get big time recruits, having one that lives 15-20 minutes from your campus is even better.

Sucks for Alabama. I was warming up to the idea of getting him. I knew overcoming his dad as an assistant at South Carolina would be tough, but expected him to wait longer.

Been a tough month for QB targets at Alabama... Fromm flipping, Mills to Stanford, and now this. Great get for USCe though.

Huge get for the program, should be easy to build a team of offensive players around him, definitely a high profile guy. I think he is the highest rated QB on the 247 Composite that we've ever got. (not saying he's the best ever, just saying on 247's Composite Ranking, he's the highest.)

ETA just checked, Stephen Garcia was the highest ever, but 247 didn't exist in 2007, when Garcia came out of HS. So Bentley is the highest ever with all 4 rating services calculated into the 247 Composite, but Garcia had the highest 247 Composite Rankings with 3 of the services reporting data.

I've been following his progress since he got to Opelika. Great QB, he was #1 on my board for over a year now.

Good pick up

Bama didn't have much of a shot. If anything, it would have been Stanford.

This pretty much seals the deal of him moving to SC before next season. If he stayed in Alabama uncommitted, his on the field safety would not be in questioned.

People were wondering if he'd spend his last season at Opelika or if he'd make the move here to go to presumably Dutch Fork.

Huge get for South Carolina.

I have heard this, too, but I am not 100% sure that rumor is true.

Unlikely after David Mills committed to Stanford.

Honestly, I don't think yall are necessarily out of the running for Fromm. I wouldn't be shocked at all if he flipped back especially if y'all put another trophy up.

Why? Were Auburn fans that upset? Because top instate prospects never leave, right? A kid like Rashaan Evans would never be threatened, right? Glass houses and all...

Alabama will get Hockman and like it.
