So Lsu fans, Could Hootie commit to Lsu if he wanted to?
It's an interesting situation...he could force himself on LSU if he wanted since he already signed and turned in EE paperwork at LSU and Bama
LSU would be forced to take him

True. But if LSU really has given him the cold shoulder per the rumors, would he? I'm sure OM is rolling out the red carpet trying to get him.

Yep, someone said earlier that he burned bridges. Just curious as to what exactly happened if anyone knows.
Was it just his commitment to Alabama?

How are we going to roll out the red carpet during the dead period? Maybe he contacted us first.
MAYBE TSUN'S BAGMAN GAVE HIM THE GREEN CARPET TREATMENT LOL

Y'all wouldn't offer him until he comes to camp. Y'all trash the shite out of him like he is some worthless pos, when in reality he is pretty good football player who is great in traffic.
LSU has a history of slow-playng in-state guys who are a little further down the list, or aren't at positions of critical need. They have several young WRs, and had 3-4 higher rated prospects. LSU probably took that same stance, and Bama went in hard and got him to bring in Cam. It was good strategy.
I don't know if Sims was trying to snub the staff or not by not coming to camp, but if he had he would have gotten an offer. That, or if he hadn't committed early to Bama, he probably would have gotten a late one. That's just how the staff does things.

Can people not learn the rules? The player can initiate phone, social network, or computer contact anytime he wants to. The dead period is about visits and coaches initiating contact.
Plus, the OM staff had probably laid out their case well before the dead period started.

I think he and his Mom handled everything leading up with class, but made some comments afterwards. Just going off memory. Not sure how heated or derogatory the comments were. And I'm too lazy to go back and look.
As for Bama, who knows. There have been a lot of rumors about what happened on his visit, but no fact.
Bama guys- would Saban take Hootie back, or is that bridge burned?

Ok, then Ole Miss was perfectly capable of telling him what he wanted to hear. That's all I meant by the "red carpet" comment. Not sure why you went all tard on it.
Easier to lure with honey, right? If the LSU staff has given him the cold shoulder, then OM will likely do this and get him.

Ok. Guess I did, whatever it was. My bad, if so. The idiots from the Rant invading the RB who DON'T know them have those of us who do on a hair trigger these days.

We're in need of safeties, so I think he would take his commitment again. The only case where he hasn't in a similar situation at Alabama was Keenan Allen. He was trying to force the staff to take his brother too.

To answer the above question about if Saban would take him back. Hootie apparently called the LSU staff after he decommited (probably expecting to be welcomed to their class) I think LSU ignored his phone calls. Hootie then tried to call Nick Saban presumably to recommit and I think they are now working through things and Saban wants to make sure Hootie is fully on board.

That makes sense. And I can imagine Saban wants to make sure he won't flip again if he re-commits

Next tweet from Hootie should be THE tweet. Not that it matters, because if the school he WANTS to go to is LSU that may not mean anything.

to correct my above statement about Coach Saban and Hootie. just saw this tweet- "ONE thing MY son is not is an attention whore..obviously HE is worth it b/c Coach Saban STILL thinks so" That was from his mom 2 hours ago.
