You honestly think this guy was the best WR in the state last year. UGA offered on Nov 16th.

I don't know what their production was last year, which is why I also said ONE OF THE BEST. I tossed in if not the best because I could have sworn that I saw that his production was as good or better than anyone else. My memory could be wrong, but I recall reading that last year when he was blowing up.

Solid post. I can't speak for others but I thought you guys were talking trash like you were going to pillage our states 4 and 5 stars. (although a few were saying that)

Some were. Which is why I prefaced mine with "On a more serious note..."

Congrats Killz, Mizzou is getting players out of Georgia that Joker Phillips always somehow got to Lexington.

Stupid thread but entertaining.

Some article from before last season on Brown

quote:

- Nate Brown, North Gwinnett: Brown’s numbers were not outstanding as a junior, as North Gwinnett spreads the wealth, though he did have nine TD receptions. He caught 41 passes overall for 491 yards. But he’s easily one of the top five receiver prospects in Georgia (offers from Illinois, Louisville, Minnesota and Vanderbilt, even Yale).

Don't know the source, but obviously some knew of him and considered him ONE OF THE BEST WR prospects in Georgia before the season started. Heck, even the 247 link provided earlier had him as top 5. And I think i found what I was thinking of. I think he led the state of Georgia in TD receptions.

quote:

Nate “Touchdown” Brown, who had one of the best seasons in GHSA history for a wide receiver, has decided against taking official visits to UGA and South Carolina.

AJC

Not saying he was one of the best WR's last year is disingenuous.

How many times did Pinkel win the Big 12?
How many BCS bowl wins did he have?
How many BCS bowl game appearances did he have?

What has Pinkel ever done that really matters?

Wasn't a great year for WR. Every reciever lacked something last year whether it be protypical size or top end speed. The highest rated recievers in Georgia barely cracked the TOP 50 in the nation. Krenwick Sanders, Nate Brown, Shenkenneth Williams, Demare Kitt all could probably be labeled as the top Senior. Krenwick was the highest rated and Nate Brown finished last out of the Top 4 but each are lacking something. Nate Brown had great size but lacks top end speed. Shenkenneth is a polished reciever who runs good routes and has great hands but lacks great size. Preston Williams, Terry Godwin and Christian Owens are much better prospects but they were juniors.

Georgia already took an in state 3-star TE in their '14 class. Their quota is full.

By the way, at 6-4 220, he is probably going to be a big, slow WR (which is where most of the H.S. footage I've seen of him has him playing) or he is going to need to eat a lot of biscuits and gravy to be a TE.

His coach did an interview with the Columbia Tribune and said Imatorbhebhe is up to about 230-235, and should get to 255 pretty easy.

Here are Daniel Imatorbhebhe's comments about his decision to be a Mizzou Tiger:

quote:
“I picked Missouri because of the people and the family atmosphere,” Imatorbhebhe told the AJC. “They value not just the player, but the person. They are a first-class program.

“It just felt like home, and I knew it would be hard to find better people than at Missouri. There was really no use in waiting. I wanted to be all-in for them because they were all-in for me. So that made me do it.”

What about UGA and Georgia Tech with Imatorbhebhe? He didn’t have an offer yet from either in-state school.

LINK /

Of course it didn't help that Georgia was not recruiting him.

quote:

quote:
“It’s like Georgia really doesn’t like kids from the state of Georgia that aren’t 5-stars. Or they will come in and offer at the last second. I’ve been to Georgia like five times, so I wanted to go to a place that valued me, and place where’s there real people, not people that just play with your feelings and play games with you.”

He was really hurt that Georgia didn't want him, wasn't he?

Which led to all the success you had in the Weak 12, I guess?

You guys sure weren't saying Nate Brown was trash last year. If I'm correct, he may have been one of the best, if not THE best, high school WR in Georgia last year.

24/7 had him listed as the 4th best WR in the 2014 class in Georgia behind (player and school):

Krenwick Sanders - Wisconsin
Shakenneth Willaims - Georgia
Demarre Kitt - Clemson

So, he was one of the best in the state, but UGA did get a higher rated in-state prospect at that position.

No one just comes into a whole different state and just lands multiple 5* recruits off the bat. Its a long process where you create a pipeline, and work your way up the ladder in terms of how skilled the recruits are. I think you're missing the point that we are not bragging about the 3* recruit, were saying that we are invading your state and recruiting grounds and stealing athletes. This is the start.

You didn't steal anything you idiot.
No one wanted him.

They could. But they'd probably be wrong. Randy McMichael, Ben Watson, Leonard Pope, Martrez Milner, Orson Charles, Arty Lynch, Demarcus Dobbs (wasn't even a TE at UGA but is a TE now), Jay Rome will be drafted, w/ Jeb Blazevich coming in I'd say it's safe to say we're tight end U. That's just since 2001.

More likely you'd be wrong. Wisconsin and. Stanford both have five active TE's in TE NFL currently to Georgia's one currently active. And that's just active. Since 2001, for Wisconsin at least, it's probably double digit TE's that have played in the league.

We have 2 TEs, one just turned into a FB.

We always have a decent TE unless his name is Tripp Chandler.

So do Wisconsin, Stanford and Notre Dame.

I'm only bringing this up because I had never heard TE U in regards to Georgia before joining here. I know all three of those schools use the TE U same moniker as well so I thought it was interesting to compare them.

Georgia gets all the 4 and 5 star recruits and still can't win, Mizzou can get all the 2 and 3 star recruits and produce at the same level as Georgia/ Georgia sucks end of thread.
