24/7 5* and #6 SG (#26 overall) Committed to USC today. Dozier, the #1 SC prospect for the 2015 class, is the 1st USC commit for the 2015 cycle.
A huge get for Coach Frank Martin, and for his program. USC needs to pull the top in-state prospects in order to improve the program....

LOL at Louisville.

He had some offers from some powerhouses correct? UNC, Georgetown, and Louisville were all going from him I believe.

LOL at Louisville.
Just read their boards, all of them are wondering why PJ would want to stay home, be a legacy player where his Dad, Uncle, and older sister (she plays for Dawn Staley) played/plays, or why he would want to play for Frank Martin?
WTF is it with some of those basketball school snobs?
Anyways, I am actually equating, and probably doing the young man a disservice doing so, but I am equating this to keeping Marcus Lattimore home. This is huge for us. We've lost so many kids in recent years to UNC and some of the other big name basketball schools. I really hope this signals the beginning of the turnaround and the return to prominence in men's basketball.

To be fair, we haven't made it to the NCAA tournament in a decade. Either the longest or 2nd longest such streak in the SEC. If I were a basketball blueblood I would be confused about why someone would pick a team that hasn't been in the top 64 in 10 years either.. legacy or not.
Oh well, let them gripe. We'll be in that tournament in another year or two.

WOW......our BBall team has been heart garbage, but things are instantly looking up.

But that's my point. Until Gilmore, Holloman, Lattimore, Swearinger, etc., decided to stay home ... well, our football program turned it around with those guys and even landed Clowney.
I just have a feeling Mack is going to join us tomorrow as well.
Why I believe this is going to lead to much bigger things down the road is because of Seventh Woods. He'll probably be a Top 10 player in the country next year and he and Dozier have played AAU ball together since they were kids.
Seventh Woods
... more Seventh Woods

I hope you are right. I read that Dozier isn't a 1 and done type of player, so if we can get him, Mack, Silva and Woods on the team at the same time....we should have a good run that season.

The 247 thread b/w SC and L'ville was awesome, before the whacks and banning.....

I see you're a diehard fan with basketball recruiting for USC...
FWIW, y'all also have Chris Silva committed.

The Blakeney mess is at least partially responsible for this. Louisville was in good shape to land one or the other and thanks to Cal's hijinks they missed on both.
Can't say I feel bad for them.

You're right ... and he's an important get for us because we need more big men. Hopefully he'll gain a little more weight before he arrives. He's a player.

I can be happy for that.

I'm sure they were saying Under Armour had everything to do with it, Pitino is above dirty recruiting and is the most moral coach in the country, and that Dozier isn't L1C4, whatever the frick that is.

Woods is a phenomenal talent. I could easily see him being the number one recruit in America for his class.
