From what I've been told, his GPA is the issue...It would be very hard for any program to do anything with that.

You don't seem to understand that there is no 'hurt' involved here. He's a good player, would love to have him - but there is something that is preventing that. Exactly what, we don't know. But in this case in CBB we trust.
