I don't think the kid is going to be a bust. He was the best player at the All American game. We'll see, but I think he is a special talent that will be a difference maker starting this Fall. I could be wrong. Time will tell.

No, because this kid craves attention and is even going through the process of trademarking a stupid slogan. It's bad enough when college kids do that, let alone high school kids.

You honestly believe a HS kid filed the trademark application for WRTS? Or for that matter that Manziel filed one for Johnny Football?

OK, then.

We Run This State

I'm pretty sure you owe Daylon Mack's family $50 for using it. Just sayin'.

Pretty imaginative way to funnel money to kids isn't it?

Kinda. Clay Travis was the first I saw to mention this loophole, back in JFF's day. And it could be a serious consideration for a kid's family with little money. Personally I think the NCAA needs to relax the rules here and allow a kid to profit from his name (Screw WRTS - that's just stupid). That opens the door to abuses from boosters buying eleventy billion Daylon Mack jerseys, but the NCAA could put a cap on it. I don't see this happening, though. It would require at least doubling the NCAA staff for oversight, and in any case you know they'd screw it up.

I went way off on a tangent here, sorry. But I don't blame Daylon Mack for that nonsense trademark. And I still won't if he goes to the hated longhorns tomorrow.

I agree. Personally have no issue with any of it. TAM figured out a way to get around rules and more power to them. Don't have to be a fan of a school to appreciate good, imaginative recruiting. Its all fair to me. The kids are gonna get theirs one way or the other and I like the gamesmanship schools use to get advantages.

Auburn had a great tactic in the Trovon Reed recruitment. They took advantage of the situation at hand and it was impressive. Not gonna hate on it.
