What spin? Literally anyone that follows recruiting can tell you Moton wasn't expected to be a part of this class. This has been discussed for some time.

I've heard his gpa is fine, but he hasn't made the ACT score he needs yet. Probably should take it In Starkville IMO

Should take it at Rust College. They give easier tests there to bring up the state average.

Well in his defense this has only been said for about 3 months now. If he hasnt been around for 3 months then he has an excuse.

Not sure what the situation was, but sites have been adament since August that he would not sign with Bama for whatever. He didn't visit Bama at all in this past season either. It was very odd recruitment.
Moton has some good talent, will take a good coach to get the best out of him. He moves really well for his size and should only get better in a college S&C program.
Bama doesn't like to greyshirt anymore, any rumors about them mostly come from people trying to make more room in their class projections or people who still like to rightfully rag on them for the Philon botched recruitment.
Now there may be a guy uncommitted they may offer one to in future classes, but I'd be surprised if they greyshirted a commit again...
