Financial report for the Athletic Departments for 2016 probably won't be out for a few months. It will be about the same. Anything else I need to educate you about?

How's this for instability:

quote:

UPDATE: Battle announced Sunday evening he is going to retire from his athletic director post to assume a new role as Special Assistant to the President. Alabama president Stuart R. Bell said that Battle will continue to lead the department until a successor transitions into the athletic director role.

“Bill has done a tremendous job as Director of Athletics, and has accomplished so much during his career,” Bell said in a release. “His business expertise, coupled with his coaching experience and his strong understanding of the role an athletic department has in the daily fabric of a university, has allowed us to achieve the great successes we have enjoyed during his tenure.  We are blessed to have the continued benefit of his counsel.”

“It's been a distinct privilege and honor serving as Director of Athletics these last four years,” Battle said in a release. “When I took over this role my wife, Mary, and I made a commitment to serving four years and I am pleased to have been able to do just that. There are so many people in the department who do a great job every day to make the Crimson Tide successful. I am deeply grateful to each and every one of them for their extraordinary efforts and loyalty to the University. Being able to lead this department has been an honor and a privilege for which I am most grateful.

“It is my hope that during my tenure here, we have been able to make a difference in young people’s lives and at the same time move forward on many different fronts. I look forward to continuing to serve the university by working closely with the new AD to assist in a smooth transition. At the end of that period I look forward to working with President Bell in the role of special advisor assistant to advance his strategic initiatives for The University of Alabama. I look forward to remaining active with the Crimson Tide Foundation and supporting Crimson Tide athletics.

“I want everyone to know that my health was not a factor in this decision as, at this time, I am in full remission and I feel great. When I came here in 2013, I committed to Dr. Witt that I would be here for four years, or the equivalent of another college degree. Last summer, before my medical procedure, I told Dr. Bell that I was expecting, as were my doctors, to come through that procedure very well, and that I intended to serve out the last year of my contract.

“I told him that he should be looking for a replacement. That process has been going on over the last few months. As you know, in this business, high-level changes are hard to map out and announce very far in advance. Meanwhile, I would like to continue to help the University, but I'd also like to be able to spend more time at our farm in Georgia and in Jackson Hole, the sort of things a full-time AD job doesn't really permit.”

But, but, but INSTABILITY!!!! Because retard tigerskin says so.

Try again:

quote:

Alabama football is a big-time money maker.

As relayed by CNN’s Ahiza Garcia on Monday, the Crimson Tide’s football program reported $103.9 million in revenue in 2016 and totaled a $47 million profit. That’s a 3.6 percent increase from the previous year.

You can see the full report here, which includes some fascinating data.

It’s no surprise that Alabama football is such a cash cow. The CNN report mentions that the Crimson Tide have netted $98 million in royalties since beginning a rich deal with Collegiate Licensing Company in 1981.

Here’s more from the report:

Merchandise revenue will also get a big boost — Alabama has a lucrative deal with Collegiate Licensing Company. It’s netted $98 million in royalties since the company was founded in 1981 by Alabama’s current athletic director, Bill Battle. Alabama was the company’s first client and is its top seller, with licensing fees skyrocketing 250% since 2005. Battle no longer runs the company.

Ticket prices for Monday night’s game hit a record high. The average resale ticket price was $3,053 as of Saturday, according to TicketIQ. The cheapest ticket to get into the game on the Alabama side was $1,794. On Clemson’s side, the cheapest tickets cost $2,600.

While these prices won’t affect 2016 profits, they’ll translate into more money for the program going forward.

With numbers like these, it’s easy to understand why Alabama is such a huge national brand. No matter the result of the national championship game against Clemson on Monday, you can make the argument that the Crimson Tide already is a big winner.

Well you've certainly done a bang up job so far. Why stop now?

ETA: Hey look. As an added bonus the article even mentions Bill Battle's company. Man you look like a fricking idiot at every turn.

I'm sorry to be the one to explain this to you, but LSixU literally refers to LSU. You know, Louisiana State UNIVERSITY.

The Louisiana State University that is in the poorhouse. Right now.

He pushed the brand like a businessman.

Maybe if your AD did the same your university wouldn't be in the poorhouse. "

AD, not President right?
Ok, we aren't talking about the Athletic Department huh?

Our university uses Athletics to push progress across all mediums. Yours doesn't.

Therefore, our AD serves the University of Alabama.

The LSU AD? He only serves the Athletic Department.

That's why your UNIVERSITY is in the poorhouse and ours is thriving.

What new sentence?

Should I be the one to break it to you that putting a bunch of laughing emojis doesn't make your post funny?
