I think the Buckeyes aren't in this at this point. They took another guy in the secondary a few weeks ago and some insiders are saying Clay's spot is gone.

I think he looks like a good long player

There's some chatter that he's not a take for us either. That's probably just our fans saying that in case we don't land him.

I don't know why a Georgia fan would post that some player is not a take. Even if I had that information directly from a UGA coach I wouldn't post it.

From everything that I've read, Chad Clay is a player that Georgia both wants and needs. We will likely find out very soon.

Seeing as how Pruitt was at his Spring game Saturday, I would assume that he is definitely a take for us.

Only reason he wouldn't be is because he is adamant about playing CB and we want him at Nickel and Star. Really has nothing to do with ability or lack of it. Plus, he is current teammates with #1 CB and #1 player in GA for 2017 Deangelo Gibbs (whom we also lead for).

Dawgs actually coming as close to putting up a fence around the state as you reasonably can.

LSU offered him and was in on him early, but I haven't heard much about him lately. I don't know which side the interest faded on, but we seem to focus more on Florida and Texas for DBs. Other positions in Georgia.

Likely has a lot to do with connections and relationships that the various recruiters/position coaches have in those states.

LSU has so many 5 star DB's on the roster that he was probably just a courtesy offer.

Well, I don't think we offer DBs we don't think can play right away and at a high level, so I don't know about the courtesy offer thing. I do think LSU had some connection to him though like his dad and Corey Raymond played together at some point or something like that.

Either way, I think he's a high level talent.
