I'm not sure he was told he'd have to pay his own way. The kid still has plenty of offers, including TTech, OU, OSU, and Houston. I think LSU found a place for him, but something definitely went wrong along the way.
Is it good pub? no. But he is a great kid and will land on his feet.

What exactly does that mean? I'm not sure how commitable these offers are but he has apparent offers from UGA, Ole Miss, Tenn. and A&M. Tenn. has been down and Ole Miss is ok, but UGA and A&M are top 10-15 programs right now for the foreseeable future

I'm not sure his offer is commitable to most of those schools.

I was going to say if you have offers from 4 solid programs then you are a good football player. Are all his good offers non-commitable then? Like the OU offer specifically

It was probably his dream to play in the SEC.
And ended up a couple inches short of realizing his dream. His skills and 'chest' (heart) were probably okay.
