Well by his own admission it hadn't happened before then, so what do you think?

Yeah, LSU coaches admitted to being more interested in Speaks because of his star rating. They never had interest in seeing how senior season played out or thought that he would be another option if they didn't get GWIII. They wait for Rivals, Scout, 247, etc. That's why LSU has top classes every year. You figured one of the most expensive college coaching staffs out from your keyboard. Genius, I tell you. Pure genius!

Sounds like some black bears are nervous. Otherwise, why be offended because someone is pursuing one of your commits? Doesn't Freeze do it all the time? Especially between Dec-Feb. Does that mean he and his staff were waiting for star ratings?

Hell of a way to talk in circles and really give no information at all. I posted that Speaks said that he had not been contacted at all by LSU until after he got his star bump. That's when LSU became interested. Speaks was just as good the day before he got the star bump, but there was no contact by LSU. He had a great senior season and then a really good al/ms all-star game and it still took over a week after the all-star game to get the star/rating bump. Where was Les before the bump? Again Speaks himself said he had 0 contact from an LSU coach before the star/ratings bump, except for when he camped down there last summer. Sure is a long time not to hear anything from a coaching staff and them all the sudden offer you because they missed out on some guys. He is quoted in the article on the LSU 24/7 board as saying it didn't matter that it was so late, but that article was written by Sonny and honestly he might be one of the biggest sunshine pumpers since Yancy Porter.

Don't be stupid. It was after the instate guy GW chose Florida, not due to the "star bump." I really didn't think you were being serious.

Speaks - 80% From what I have heard is that the offer will happen in a matter of days and a flip will occur in a matter of time after that.

I don't really understand why he would go to LSU.
So what if they are his dream offer, if my dream school waited so fricking long before offering me, I would conclude that they didn't really want me at first.

When Breeland got a rating bump LSU somehow got interested and only when they missed out on Willis they offered.

If I was Breeland I would tell LSU to go I don't really understand why he would go to LSU.

That's some thoughtful analysis. Maybe you should give some thought as to why Mississippi kids "dream" about a chance to play at LSU.

The guy saying its all about the star bump is partially correct but not for the reason he thinks.

This is how it works in case he doesn't know. Speaks played LB a lot as a junior not DT. Speaks was a 3* because of that fact. He was a 3*LB with no DT film. He plays his senior year and someone films it(funny how that works). Said film gets posted to Hudl and/or the recruiting sites. Analysts and coaches alike see this film and out of nowhere the kid gets a bump to a 4* and other schools are suddenly after him because now they have actual film to scout. So yes its because of the * bump. The same film that led to the bump led to LSU offering. Hard to believe I know. Doesnt quite fit the story the way he wants.

Also pretty strange that LSU had no contact with Speaks before yet he was at one of our summer camps. Is a recruit leaving something out? Can't imagine that
