People would be dumb to think that whole class sticks with ten months to go!

I agree with this. bama is crushing it right now. There is no denying that. To think every one of these kids will actually sign with bama is a bit wishful hoping, IMO. bama will still sign a great class. All of these great classes bama has signed recently has left them with holes though.

6 straight top 10 finishes
Who gives a shite about this, but we had 5 top ten finishes in our stretch

5 BCS Bowl appearances
We had 4. But both LSU and Alabama won 3. So pretty much even there. And we had 3 sec titles in our stretch compared to yalls 2. So I would call it a wash

Not in a row. 6 in a row is pretty impressive.

In 10 years.

If you want this to be a pissing contest, I guess it can be - but you probably don't want that. The "SEC championships are the only thing that matter" argument is literally the only angle you have.

There is a quantifiable probability that a school with a 10 ten recruiting class will win the MNC vs a school outside the top 10.

I don't think you understand what quantifiable means. Tell me, what is the probability of one of Bama's top 100 recruits panning out and being an All-American? If you were to give me a number would you be guessing?

Scrooster, you have Bama AND LSU fans on this thread calling you an idiot. That is never a good position to find yourself in.

No one on this board thinks recruiting is ALL that matters. I have seriously never seen that argument (definitely not in this thread). So please stop regurgitating shite about the bounce of the ball and blue collars. That said, if you can't acknowledge that it is a HUGE advantage as far as odds to win an MNC to have 4 or 5 #1 classes on a roster than you really need to take a break from this board.

That's the title of the article that was linked to .... yankee boy.

I like the whole "miz-couze" joke I make at bars that all of my Italian buddies get instantly. It makes us laugh.

So, it's a fairly safe bet that whomever has the #1 class is not necessarily going to win the championship ... and that was my point. Having the #1 class is almost like winning the Par 3 tourney at The Masters.

I think it's more like having the lead at The Masters going into day 3

Bama is one of about 10 teams(golfers) who has a realistic chance to win it all

Bama has hit the point where it doesnt matter anyone. They have more recruited talent than they could ever hope to use to each player's full potential. Its like the difference having 1000 nukes vs 2000, it just doesnt matter.

Their limiting factor is execution and coaching. Their talent level is maxed out.

gives lots of people in trailer parks in Alabama a boner and let's their women have a night without being slapped around. Overall, its a good thing if we declare Alabama the recruiting NC every week or so.
For the good of the innocent

What all of these great recruiting classes have produced is 6 consecutive teams with the ability to win the National Championship. Of course they have won 3. The point is you can't win it without the players, they give you a chance. However, players alone will not get it done, coaching, execution, team chemistry, work ethic, hunger, and luck, among other things are big factors.

Of course you cant win it without the players, the issue is that you dont need elite recruiting classes to have the players necessarily. Oregon has played in a national title game and seriously contended for several others despite usually recruiting outside the national top-20. Mizzu nearly won the SEC last year and had a four year average class rank prior to that in the 30s.

Recruiting classes correlate well with championships, but they arent the end all be all.

2 sec titles in 7 years? I think alot of programs have done that. Spare me the BCS titles, those can be bogus(LSU 2007-we had 2 losses, got extremely lucky. Bama 2011, you know the drill. Auburn 2004, undefeated in the SEC and didnt even get a shot). Sec titles show what was proven on the field based on only merit, and while 2 in 7 is good, not exactly rare

The SEC title doesn't mean shite when compared to a National Title. GTFO with that "lucky" excuse.

There is no way Alabama locks up a better class if we get all of those guys.

We could still finish with Daron Payne, Tim Settle, Devonaire Clairington (we won't, but I wish), and another big name RB.

Combine that with media biased Bama bumps, and Bama gets credited with the top class.
