Nope, different initials, but that person probably works with my brother in law.
He wouldn't tell us the really good dirt while he was coaching at Auburn, but you better believe I'm going to get him drunk and make him spill.

I'm not sure how true it is. I think a lot of it is just butthurt recruiting people or perhaps current coaches putting that out there.
If it is true, it's a good way to never find a job again. Coaches talk to other coaches.

He is a douchebag that fools people into thinking he is a good guy.

I have said it before and I will say it again...recruits are drawn to Trooper because of his personality. He becomes their buddy and therefore has a tremendous influence over them.
AU has proven it does not matter how much talent a recruiter can bring in...if they aren't developed you might as well have brought in a class of non-ranked players.
Gus didn't bring him back in for a reason...I hope the rumors are false but I put absolutely nothing past him. It will all come out in the wash and each party will get what they deserve. AU may suffer a little for associating with him but we will be fine...
In a nutshell the above is correct...

I'm amazed Auburn fans ever liked the guy. He is just a clown and probation threat.
Good recruiter but there are plenty of those out there. Good riddance IMO.

This.
I generally defended Troop while at AU and have nothing against him.
If he is talking shite against AU while still getting paid by AU, I have a serious problem with that.

Word around the Twitters is that it was Thig badmouthing AU rather than Troop.
Dunno what to think about this

Anyway, the word going around was that, at the time, Trooper was headed to Arizona State, and knowing he was gonna leave after NSD, pushed TJ to enroll at Bama rather than AU. I also believe it had something to do with sour grapes about being passed over for OC, but I'm not 100% on that.
Not sure about this one. I had heard that Trooper was told by Chizik to look around for another job if he was unhappy about not being the OC. Trooper was unsuccessful in finding employment elsewhere. He eventually came around and actually had Chizik's ear by summer in a way that he NEVER had it when Gus was there (Gus will always take high road, but he was not a Trooper fan for a number of reasons, not the least of which being how he coddled the players, undermined discipline, and even fell asleep in staff meeting).
As for the Yeldon thing, I don't think that is true. TJ had much more of a connection with Luper and Gus. He was not overly tight with Trooper. TJ tried to decommit twice during the fall that year, but Gus was able to talk him out of it both times. That's to Gus' credit. He was able to sell TJ on being "the man" in AU's offense and talked about how he could do some really dynamic things (which he would have been great in that O). Once Gus was gone, it was only a matter of time before TJ decommitted and went to Bama. Gus was the only reason it hadn't already happened. Trooper didn't make it happen. TJ wanted to do it any way.

I'm sure he is, too, but Thig is employed. When Thig says something about AU it is b/c he's trying to convince kids to come to his new school. When Troop says something bad it's bc he's trying to make it look like he's the only reason kids were coming to AU. If that perception is created, it makes him more valuable on the market as an asst.
Bottom line, Troop had Chizik call Mack Brown to try to get him a job on that staff. Texas is an absolute dumpster fire right now and Trooper has the ability to recruit and help them. Mack wanted no part of him. Taylor has a reputation in the coaching community and he won't get the type of job he wants. The expression in the community is "pass the trash" when you try to get an asst a job elsewhere (usually bc you don't want him on your staff and you don't want the reputation out there that you fired him...Bama did this with Applewhite). No one is going to let Trooper be passed on to them right now.

Sanders wasn't talking about Trooper...

what's going on in this thread? Bamasgot still grinding his ax against trooper and using internet rumors to try to coax folks to his side?
I'd rather go back to living and dying on the words of a 17 year old kid, becuase that, compared to this, is more reasonable.

I heard he said "currently unemployed" former AU coach. That leaves Trooper and Van Gorder

Didn't know that part. Had heard another coach with the same initials was the real culprit.

You choose who you take info from and I'll choose who I accept info from. I merely said interesting, hardly an endorsement of what was posted. Just like you would die over what. 17 yr old would say is interesting to me. Is it true that you would die over them? Most likely not, but interesting that you would suggest it.

you were the last post on the page, it wasn't in repsonse to you
Narcassist.
Well that part was a joke. Hence the 'compared to' and 'more reasonable' part
