So there is no validity that 1 of them is shy his ACT score and the other needs to make a C or better in a certain class to be eligible GPA wise?

There is.

Three years ago both these kids would be signing with Arkansas on signing day but with the hard 25 rule we just can't take the chance.

Y'all can spin it like that all you want on the Internet but in real life now the greater br coaches are going to lock you out.

I would doubt that.

especially a new coach who needs an upgrade in talent now... in a couple years when things are more settled, arkansas will probably be able to take more risks with their signings.

this is a good example of what the new rule was so stupid... it doesn't benefit anybody -- not the schools are the players. the HS coach just needs to understand and get over it.

Also, I bet he wouldn't be a b*tch if Les Miles was the one doing this... in state schools always get the benefit of the doubt.

That would be ugly wouldn't it? I'm not happy about the possible future repercussions it could have in the area but its not limited to Arkansas and we cant take any risks at this juncture.

Blanchard red-shirted at South because of depth. He will start there next season. If any of those kids plays DL, south will happily take them as well!

they'll be doing their own players and future players a disservice then... it should be all about giving your players the best possible opportunity... and trying to limit his college options does the opposite of that.

to any coach who holds a grudge and limits one of his players potential options.

They have dropped offers at the last minute to three kids within a 30 mile radius of br in two years. Coaches are going to distrust an Arkansas offer, and for good reason.

Also, they'll be sure to tell kids to keep their options open because of sneaky tricks like this.

Dead serious, not saying Blanchard is Alex Collins by any means. Staff RS him because had two juco ribs and a 5th year SR. South does not get 3 year players so they use RS as much as possible. Kid will be one of the best Rbs in Sunbelt next year. My post was not knocking Arkie so relax.

Name another school that has done this for such a high number of kids in one area that had no consequences Tia.

Several times? Can't name one. But Alabama had to "drop" Darius Philon because of this new SEC rule. He was offered only a greyshirt days before NSD. It sucks because he's been a good DL for Arkansas.

Obviously you're taking this personal however all three drops were valid whether you are willing to admit it or not.

Kaleb Blanchard was a JLS commit and Bielema had no obligation to honor his commitment when he took the job. He was dropped almost two months before signing day. Plenty of time to get on elsewhere.

Both of the Dutchtown kids are borderline on qualifying. We can't take the chance. They both committed in the summer and knew what they had to do to get in. That's on them and exactly why Moseley issued a public apology on twitter taking the blame for what happened. From what I understand McBride is closer to qualifying but it still not 100%. I can see why he would be upset and I don't blame him. However, it's not our fault we can't risk burning a scholarship because of a stupid rule.

Do you read? LSU and Alabama have plaques and memorials for their players at dutchtown and Arkansas was going to join the party.

Who has bama pulled an offer from in the 11th hour around baton rouge in the last two years?

You haven't done it once, much less three times.

I was agreeing with you. Because you proved my point. I hope Blanchard does well. Bert had to do what he thought was best. He didnt keep a single out of state verbal that year but retained all in-state verbals that the prior coaching staff had recieved. He did it in January so those guys had lots of time to find other schools. These 2 at Dutchtown are so close to signing day that I would suspect that they are a risk that we cant take.

every player should be doing this throughout the process anyway... you never know what coaches are getting fired/hired, who else is committing, etc. Same goes for coaches.

i'm not saying arkansas isn't without fault in this situation, but the idea shutting out another school

Some LSU posters said the same thing would happen last year after we dropped Blanchard and Skinner when Bielema was hired. Turns out we had our most commits from Louisiana in over 20 years prior to these guys being dropped. Even without them we have 4 other commits from Louisiana which is the most we've had in a long time in one class.
