Don't act like it was hyperbole in this thread. You spout the same nonsense on the SECR and always use the "much bigger disparity of talent" argument. It's been proven you are wrong so just move on.

I think your getting frustated at the "FACT" that Chavis is a terrible recruiter. Our current DC has 2 LBs commited, a third is rumored to Commit on Monday......"a Texas Kid".........might get Monroe "the best DB/Safety in Texas". Our former DC/LB coach signed 1 LB in the last 2 classes...........who turned out to be a BUST...HE QUIT

If the rumor of the Monday Commit is true,"another TEXAS cruit" Then Steele has reeled in more LB commits in 4 months than Cheif did in the last 3 years. And Chavis wanted a raise?

This recruitng momentum in Texas would bother me if I was an Aggie, and really believed LSU was doomed

Funny you use quotes, because that's not true at all. I actually have touched this subject on the rant before, but I said that clemsons athletic advantage over most of the acc and WVU was "comparable" LSU's talent advantage over most of their schedule. Here it is in its entirety:

quote:

Seriously, it took ND, A&M, Alabama, Arkansas, Ole Miss, UK, and Florida to score more touchdowns against Chavis than it did for WVU in one game against Steele. Not to mention Clemon's athletic advantage to most of the ACC, and certainly WVU is comparable to any kind of athlete advantage LSU has...

I'm done arguing with you. I've proved you are full of shite with regards to the subject so now you're acting like you were "using hyperbole" when saying it.

Just move on. It's done.

How am I full of shite? I've never acted like it was a huge difference anywhere but this thread, and that's only after months of hearing "steele's never had talent like this before" on almost a daily basis.

I'm not full of shite by any means, because Clemson did in fact have more relative talent, even though in the past when I asserted it would be "comparable" it was blown off and laughed at.

Sorry if it frustrated you when I made my initial claim in this thread, I can appreciate that feeling as it's exactly what led me to take such a hard stance there myself. Often times when arguing a point where two parties are so far apart you must do some posturing to reach a more amicable solution.

If I didn't take the hard stance it never would have gone this far, and it would have remained unanswered. I would have kept saying the relative talent was comparable and LSU fans would have kept blowing it off.

No need to get worked up or personal about anything, it's just message board fun.

I've congratulated every pickup and even conceded Eric Monroe will be a huge blow. I'm not here to flame. LSU has been doing great recruiting Texas. What you don't understand is that Texas gets split 10 ways and has for a long long time.

you know how losing speedy didn't hurt LSU because he's easily replaced? The only recruit this year that LSU is going to take that really hurts us is Monroe, and believe me we need him in a bad way.

Yall are about to get Thornton on Monday too, and he's a great pick up but it doesn't hurt us directly if that makes sense.

The Aggies expectations are that Steele will bomb out at LSU and leave a mess.

So what happens if Chavis is not the savior for the aggies like they expect and he leaves a mess.

I think that Coach O is the X Factor for us going forward, any fool would admit that Coach O is a huge upgrade over Haley coaching and recruiting wise.

And Chavis do not have a Coach Raymond secondary to bail him out every game, like they did in most games last year.

Apparently they are not taking into consideration the ability of the entire defensive staff.Anyone who actually believes LSU will live and die with Steele is kidding themselves.

He'll do well or he'll be replaced, your program is what it is. No one is arguing that.

Steele probably won't bomb at LSU but he likely won't be better than Chavis. Which is fine, Chavis was one of the best over last decade or so.

Well, he had the most raw talent, that's for sure. I wanna see how he does at A&M before I really can say he was/is one of the best.

All the Texas fans in my life say that Brick is a genius who neither we nor LSU could afford.

So we couldn't afford to pay a guy to coach but were willing to eat his contract and pay him not to coach? That makes sense.

Aggie message board posters do not = Aggie fans. And, I assume that's the case for pretty much all schools.

Certainly will be interesting and a huge question mark until we start playing some games. Maybe the lack of coaching prowess will be offset by the boost in recruiting we've gotten with Chavis and Brick off staff
