Sims and Sylve were never offered. Williams was a very odd situation that left his offer unclear to me. The 09 guys we wanted but haven't done much in college - oddly, excluding Greg Robinson, most LA players who turn down LSU and go to SEC schools have had marginal careers or worse since about 2006ish.

Only Bama's academic standards could get Lacy eligible,

This lie has been repeated and repeated ad nauseam.

There is no fact in this statement. If there is, provide actual proof of the academic standard to get into both schools.

not even a quarter are from Louisiana (or even close).
On a serious note you've gotta be LC or his driding loner tag along.

I said Sims was not a take at the time he committed to Bama. My bad on Sylve, I thought he was (Rivals shows him with an LSU offer, but that doesn't mean he could have committed).

I think this was true for both our staffs.

True. Bell had some big plays for us but wasn't a consistent impact player. Sentimore had one decent year for UT.

Can't really argue that for the most part (though one was just named NFL ROY - but that's another debate). I expect LC and Devall to have careers closer to Robinson than Sentimore. But we shall see.

The standards are the same, and maybe even harder at Alabama, only an idiot would say otherwise.

Lacy received some help at Curtis that allowed him to be eligible at both LSU and Alabama. LSU had already moved on.

Lacy was talented in his own right, but I honestly believe that Saban took the chance on Lacy because of what he saw at Dutchdown. Everything worked out, and Saban looks like a genius again.

Bunch of B.S. Bama has never gotten more then 3 kids in any year going back to 2007 and got none in 2010. LSU signed 12 out of Louisiana last year and 15 in 2012. Most guess is, that's more in 2 years then Bama has gotten in 20.

While that is true, I also think it's true that LSU's class was so full that year that the staff wasn't interested in taking a flyer on Lacy and waiting around on the small chance he was going to qualify.

Maybe he'd have gone to Bama regardless, but LSU slow played him way more than they would have an instate back with his skills that didn't have the academic question marks.
