Reggie McNeal was a great athlete who would've had a very different career under Coach Sumlin.

Reggie and Kyler are as different as night and day; not even sure I understand the comparison.

He's much more polished than Reggie. No drug problems either.

Everybody these days is more polished than QBs from 12 years ago... This feels like McNeil 2.0... Tons of A&M hype for an in-state QB.

Well leading his team to 2 consecutive state championships at the highest level of Texas high school football will probably generate some hype. Probably make it 3 in a row this year.

Look at his release, mechanics, footwork... THEN try and tell me he looks like Sheppard or McNiel.

The way QBs transfer you guys expect Allen and Kyler to both stick around if Hill starts this year?

His mechanics, release, footwork, speed, and elusiveness make him look like Mocha Johnny. I'll take it.

If hill wins? Allen would probably transfer. But it won't make a difference to Kyler either way.

Is he a lock to get to campus?

Allen baseball coach Paul Coe said that Kyler is projected as a first- or second-round pick. I’ve talked with another high school coach this week who said that a MLB scout told him that he believed Murray could be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2015 draft,

I know you know this isn't true.

Not a lock, but most of the opinions I've read on it don't have him going that high in the 1st. In fact, given the nature of his connection at A&M, a team would have to REEEEALLY love him to risk a high pick. And they typically don't do that for guys his size. They want bigger guys with more projectable power.

Here is what Kendall Rogers (yes I'm sure there are some that hate him, but I'd imagine he talks to scouts pretty frequently) said on our 247 board in April

quote:

With that said, as of right now, Kyler is not a top 200 prospect nationally and overall. But as with anything, I caution people to wait until February or March of next year before nailing it down as a done deal. He could go out this summer, rake, and turn into that guy. The two things that will work against him stock-wise are 1) Size and 2) Likelihood of tough signability.

Funny statement considering he's a QB. Not saying the kid isn't electric, but he's def. not your protoypical QB.

We've had some success w/ a QB his size before.
