Just watched highlights. Looks like he's going to be a good one for a few years. Looks tailor made for that offense. Hope he's gone by the time we matchup in 2019

I hope Slive comes to his senses and we go to 9 games so we can play before 2019.

2 years playing at the highest level of football in Texas and playing the toughest schedule and he hasn't lost a game yet, 27-0 with 2 State Titles and 2 Title MVP's. Tremendous speed and moves and a lighting release developed by a Dad that is an elite QB coach. He has a chance to be the most decorated HS player in Texas history.

If he were a few inches taller he would be the consensus #1 on every list.

I watched his Dad play and he was amazing, 2 Time SWC Player of the Year and 2 time 2nd Team AA. Easily the greatest QB in A&M history prior to JFF.

Can you redshirt in football and still play baseball?

See Jordan Chambliss and Jerrod Johnson as examples of players who redshirted in football and played other sports in the spring of that same year.

His uncle is Calvin Murray who played for the sips in the late 80s/early 90s...1st round CF draft pick with the Cleveland Indians...I played HS baseball against him...fastest player I ever saw...that is where Kyler's speed comes from...its in the genes.

I don't count chickens.

But for real, is this kid going to be a red-shirt sit a couple years type or start immediately type?

I think one of the two guys competing this year will grab hold of the job and Murray will sit behind either one for a few years. If one of those two transfers though he might not end up redshirting.

Only way he starts as a true freshman is if both guys struggle this year or if there's an injury

I think the goal, especially if the Hill/Allen backup stays, is to redshirt Murray to allow him to bulk up and play baseball, as he likely won't enroll early.

in 2015:

Allen SO
Hill JR
Murray FR

in 2016:

Allen JR
Murray RS FR
unnamed FR QB

Allen would conceivably leave for the NFL after his JR year.

The real question is: can he avoid a horse collar?

You don't avoid a horse collar.
You just hope that the defense isn't cheating to begin with.

This thread is strangely quiet.
Why do I have a hunch that if Kyler had chosen Oregon, there'd be a 10-pager on this board by now?
