I would be surprised if it went into the season. He's a QB. It'll be important for him to be helping recruit his class.

I'm not really sure how old you are, but you sound so negative, you must not have accomplished anything in life. I'm going to pray for you!

Seems to implicate 247 staff writers

This is correct. I'm not sure if the previous post is indicating that I'm trying to play "insider", but that's not the case. I have no clue where Fields is leaning. I pay for subscription on 247, so I think it's relevant to paraphrase the 247 writers.

FTR, I'm not convinced UGA leads. I'm cautiously optimistic but I also realize our QB depth chart is deeper than AU, UF and FSU. One would need to be blind to not think that is a factor. Thought I'd clear that up

Summary of where things stand, based on my reading:

UGA and AU both clearly feel good.

FSU seems less confident but optimistic.

UF seems to be fading.

This is how I see it.

Hoping Cam + Depth Chart = Fields to AU

I still remember when Keith Neighbur pissed off a lot of Georgia fans by saying Terry Godwin was not a 5 star receiver in his opinion.

Yet Keith has turned out to be right. Terry Godwin had not played like a 5 star receiver. More like a 3 star receiver

You may want to go and look at Godwin's 2015 highlights. He made some impressive plays.

4 star so far and that's with 2 bad passing games in a row.

deal with Keith and j lee? Au fans don't even like j lee. Keith always seems to be pretty cautious with his picks. He may pick Auburn but it always is filled with caveats. Y'alls talking points with these guys just aren't even accurate

I have seen what Keith has said about fields, so it's not an inaccurate talking point.

I haven't read this whole thread, and I just clicked on a page where someone was asking why UGA fans don't like Keith Neighbur. I believe it was on page 16. Comments like he made about Terry Godwin are at least part of the reason

I think he's fine, but the reasons that UGA fans don't like him is that he went to Florida and covers Auburn.

The reason fans think other schools' reporters are homers (in general) is that those reporters' best sources are the staffs at those other schools. That information is slanted before the reporter ever gets it.

Here is Keith's discussion about Fields from 3 days ago, with Kipp Adams who covers UGA. They essentially say both sides feel good, but the info coming out is all over the map. Again, I don't understand where he's being an AU homer.

No, I wasn't implying that of you. SumterDawg, I believe, asked me to show where a UGA insider (someone official) had made reference to UGA leading for Fields, so I copied that quote which seemed to suggest a 247 staff writer for UGA was saying Georgia was the leader. Any way, I think we are all on the same page, lets move on.

This, and its a business meant to generate subscriptions, so of course most sites will slant this recruitment a little to its market.

Having said that, I like Keith because, while he does have and quotes "sources" in AU's program, he typically takes a methodical approach in making projections on recruits - his common quote is "follow the visits". He sees where kids go often, and who they hang out with on visits and relies on this a lot more than what he is told by sources. It seems to be a little more objective, I think. But its recruiting so nothing is an exact science, obviously.

Great point.

Think it's safe to say it's AU/UGA as of now. But who knows

What I've seen on our side is verbal later this month, or early August.

If after that, he's Auburn I'd assume.

Would like to hear Auburn's info on their side.

Either way..... Lots of people will be disappointed

Pretty much the same. Commitment perhaps in August, but nothing for sure. Quindarious Monday (recent commit who's on Fields' 7on7 team), said he thinks its AU. Bout the only new info really.
