Coach Gaspard, the ball is now in your court to impress us...

Figure the odds on that happening

So can we call Bruce Pearl the savior of Alabama basketball yet?
Posted on 8/18/15 at 4:17 am to Weagle25
No we owe all this to Anthony Grant...jk

Nice pick-up for Alabama and Avery Johnson. The state of Alabama is about to get interesting with basketball.

With the state pretty much running things in football and routinely putting on the Game of the Year, it'd be very interesting to see the basketball programs break into the top 20-25

About damn time. I get sick of the jackass commentators talking about our football teams during our basketball game because of the shite show on the court. The "they're football schools, folks" jokes are annoying as hell and hopefully are soon to end.

It would be strange as hell to see Bama and Auburn on top of the west in basketball. But I'm too young to remember the Wimp days and only remember Barkley as a pro.

Bama fans, any concerns about his eligibility?
Obviously, the fact that he to Prime Prep is a huge red flag (see Eammanuel Mudiay). Then, at the time of his commitment he was "homeschooled." Now he's at Advanced Preparatory International, a first year school.
Seems like the NCAA is going to be all over his transcript.

I haven't read any mod state the staff was concerned. I also don't know if he's been homeschooled all of his high school career or just while playing for Prime Prep.

That's a whole lotta red flags

Prime Prep was a high school, so he wasn't homeschooled then. He attended school there and it was a total sham school started by Deion Sanders. It was shut down, and many of the kids didn't have transcripts and other schools didn't even know what grades to put them in.
Its not a death warrant. Jordan Mickey was ruled ineligible by the NCAA, and was able to appeal and play for LSU. Emmanuel Mudiay thought he'd have no problem, then when he found out the NCAA was looking into him, he just decided to bail on SMU for China.
Ferguson is probably better off that he's finishing somewhere other than Prime Prep, but why not a regular school? Its another basketball diploma mill started overnight.
