I'm not sure what to make of Waller. He kind of reminds me of Michael Sam on film but then you see him at a camp and he doesn't really stand out.

Yeah, he has been measured at multiple camps as not quite reaching the 6'2" he is listed at. Too short for your typical stand-up 3-4 OLB. And at 225lbs, not hefty enough to play the traditional 5 technique DE either.

I think that he probably ends up playing as a hybrid OLB/S/DE role. Roberts plays a "Jack" LB whose main role is pass rusher while dropping into coverage if need be. I have yet to see the Jack LB do too much in coverage at AU this season. I doubt we will see that change with Waller in the future too. That's not to say he can't cover, because he is certainly athletic enough to drop into a zone or man up a TE. His arm length helps there.

Where this kid will earn his money is his pass rush. His first step, burst, bend, and strength in his hands are all elite. I haven't seen any combine type numbers for his bench but watching his film, he is plenty strong enough. But it's his burst off the edge that has coaches wanting this guy on their teams.

He could easily put on another 30 lbs by the time he hits a college field. He reminds me of Dwight Freeney, who was about 6'1", 250 in college.

Quick 6'2" pass rushers can work out pretty well... Carl Lawson comes to mind.

Yeah Napier really has UF humming in year 2. Don’t know how he could turn that down

Some folks at 247 aren’t that worried about losing a 6’0” 230 DE/LB.
BTW there's a pic of him with a bunch of other future AU players at the OM/AL all star game... he's noticeably taller than the WRs listed ~6... if he's not 6'2" then he's just a hair under. #9 is 6'4"
