That was a tough loss for OU, but I hope he goes on to have a great career. It is good to see former Jim Crow universities like LSU and other SEC sports programs become 98% African American today, and I hope these recruits go on to have much success and earn tons of wealth so that they can gentrify their still oppressed communities in the south and gain political power in the region.

Hopefully people will always remember how OU and other non-southern universities, as well as the Texan LBJ's passage of the Civil Rights Act, went on to pave the way to make this happen by giving black athletes opportunities that they once were not given in their own home states in the 1960s and '70s down in Dixie

You would be shocked to hear some of the names Bama has said no to under Saban.

Recruiting rankings and these recruiting services player rankings don't mean a damn to Saban.

He has his on board and own player rankings.

Well Jacoby Stevens must be a damn stud because Saban was all over him in the end. Glad he stuck with us. Every time I hear that Saban is going hard after one of our recruits I instantly just concede defeat

Thanks to Jacoby for standing up for the little guy

You do know that teams use their own evaluations and not recruiting rankings in deciding who they want, right?

Let's see, one guy makes over $7 million dollars a year because he's considered the best coach and recruiter in the country.

The guys who put out these rankings you are clinging to need random people to pay $10 a month to scrape by on maybe $50,000 a year.

So who's stupid in this scenario?

Yeah I recall Bama fans here said Saban passed on Fournette, at least that is what one of you guys said when he committed.

bullshite.

I was here that day. No one said that.

Someone may have said we didn't NEED him, but no one said we passed on him.

I think we can all agree that Alabama didn't really need him in the end.

Call it all you want, it was said here that he really wanted to go to Bama but Saban backed off because he got Henry the year before and other backs (Damien Harris maybe? ) lined up for '15.

It was said here by multiple Bama fans that Saban "backed off" his recruitment, that's passing on him.

That's absolutely not true. Hell, Bucc was practically screaming that we were landing Fournette up until his announcement.

Henry was coming off a season where he ran the ball 35 times. Alvin Kamara had just been kicked off the team due to sabotaging potential recruits official visits.

Damien Harris was committed to Michigan well before Alabama got involved.

Again, bullshite. I've run our recruiting thread for the past four classes and no Alabama fan ever said that.

Unless you can provide a link or two your claim is baseless.

And again, saying Alabama didn't need Fournette is not saying Alabama passed on him.

It was said Saban backed off recruiting him, due whatever reason. I don't follow Bama, so whatever rationale that was given so be it.

I didn't believe that to be true that he backed off then, and I don't believe it to be now.

Signing Henry the year before made that miss not a big deal. You can't sign them all but you sure can melt about them all. Why are yall melting over a "3 star" RB? 4 star composite but he signed with another team so we must use his lowest rated site to rank him.
