So we should stop recruiting?

"HISTORY" like our recent recruiting classes?

I'll hang up and listen, because if you want me to prove that he is taking the defense seriously, then it will be too easy and we will be out of this thread by lunch time.

it's wins that matter, this recruiting stuff is touch and go. If you need to be argumentative then argue about what actually occurred not what possibly could. is that ok?

We're trying to predict future wins and losses, based partly on the quality of player we THINK each school is getting. We can't just refer to the past because those players aren't here anymore.

If you're saying there are no guarantees in recruiting, I'd wholeheartedly agree, which is why you have to keep recruiting high-level players at EVERY position. Which is what we're doing.

I mean, you're on a recruiting board, arguing we shouldn't be talking about recruiting. I genuinely do not understand that.

"HISTORY"
like what your classes produced in terms of wins, especially in your division.

no shite. it comes down to can he lock up the top instate D talent and will it produce? We will only know this after the kids take the field. From a HISTORY standpoint: Strong had three first round Defenders from Louisvile, how's that happen?

I don't think he understands quite as much either.

Now I don't know where you are going with this. What is your argument? It seems like y'all are starting to get on the same page.

Wtf cares about strong? Are you a sip? Did he have three in the first? Cause pretty sure one was a QB. Unless that's a new defensive position.

My point was Offense up is all good......but until Sumlin takes Defense seriously, it won't matter

And history tells us he won't or doesn't care

No, history doesn't tell you that. At Houston, he started off w/ a bad defense, ranked in the 90's for scoring defense, then fired his DC after two seasons. In year two of the new DC, Houston's scoring defense was ranked 35.

When he came to A&M, his first choice for DC was Pat Narduzzi. That didn't happen, and he went with Snyder, who had a pretty good defense his first year (scoring defense #26). If Snyder doesn't get the job done, Sumlin will replace him, just like he did his first DC at Houston.

I mean, really, Sumlin is himself an ex-linebacker in college. You REALLY think he doesn't take defense seriously?

frick, you dropped the LB nugget. I thought we were gonna wait to drop that one on em?

Basically, you LSU fans want us to look at the history without the right kind of talent to produce, is what I'm gathering. So we should just cut off a leg before the race even starts. Sounds great!

If people didn't argue with people over silly stuff, this site would have maybe 5 total posts. 10 tops.

I REALLY think he's in over his head and A&M will never have a decent D as long as he's at the helm.

But his offenses will be dynamic

This one hurt after y'all basically slow played him and it looked like we were getting back into it with him.

And it seems like the Murray commit will seal Lodge for y'all too. That makes me sad, considering that it seemed like a matter of time before he was gonna commit to Texas like 8 months ago I guess. Good pickup (potentially 2) for you all.

That's about all we have going for us at the moment

Thought we'd grab some momentum with teh Gentry commit a few weeks ago but y'all swiftly come back with the Murray commit and we're back to where we started.

Y'all may have finished off another Aggie coach

We needed the recruiting momentum badly since we didn't have a spring game. Things had been pretty quiet, I missed reading the A&M recruiting thread on Shaggy
