Look at how well LSU quarterbacks have done in the NFL. Jamarcus Russell and Matt Flynn are two of the very worst starters in the history of the NFL

He's a starter and back up wr with Career TD's as an NFL WR. I don't see how you can laugh at 3rd stringer in college being able to not only make an NFL roster, but be able to significantly contribute.

Laugh all you want, but it's a great accomplishment for James Wright. Especially after having to back-up the likes of Randle, OBJ, Landry, Ect for his entire college career.

I can't believe you are arguing recruiting with Memphis.

I guess you're lucky that Cam Newton had sticky fingers for that laptop in Gainesville otherwise you'd be hanging your hat on Jason Campbell

Has LSU had a starting quarterback that hasn't been arrested in the last 5 or 6 years? I know Jordan Jefferson, Mettenberger, and Anthony Jennings all have been arrested

lol.

if you recall correctly, the last two quarterbacks to get us to national championship games were both kicked off their first sec teams. the most recent one was pulled over and cited for weed possession (however stupid it was) just last year.

playing the fricking moral high ground card isn't the way to go.

the correct response is "who the frick does lsu have to hang their hats on? because as mediocre as jason campbell is/was, he's still better than any qb from lsu in the past 30 years."

Just being realistic here; Jason Campbell is Auburn's best recent qb that they developed. Newton came to auburn a needing perhaps a little polishing, if not a finished product. Jeremy Johnson could end up a star and he would definitely be an example of Malzahn/Auburn developing a top quarterback, but that's not for sure yet. Unless you are being overly subjective and want to claim Auburn had a huge impact on Newton, you can't argue that Auburn is a better place for the development of a young quarterback. At least for now.

Mett was and is a pretty damn good QB. Jamarcus Russell was a fool but the dude was a baller at LSU. Matt Flynn won a national title at LSU and has been a steady NFL guy for his whole career.

Let's not act like LSU has always had shite QB play. Ryan Perriloux set them back for 2-3 years, and then Gunnar Kiel set them back another year this past season. In a perfect world Kiel starts last year and this year then Harris steps in ready as a RS sophomore

But I'll be willing to bet Harris does a solid job this year for the bengals

Are you too fricking stupid to understand a LSU poster was the person who first brought up the subject of criminal quarterbacks? How dare me point out the stupidity of him bringing up the subject considering their own quarterbacks who would fit into that category. Oh wait, you apparently are stupid because you apparently think you need to explain the history of Auburn quarterbacks to me

who gives a shite? what the frick is the point of playing the "you've had 3 qbs arrested in the past 5 years and we've only had 2" game?

i'm actually pretty fricking happy cam got arrested because auburn is still without a championship for 58 years if not for that.

The idea that Cam was some finished product or anything close to that when he first arrived at Auburn is bullshite. I have seen a guy that used to cover Florida during Cam's career say he couldn't hit the broad side of a barn when he was playing down there. A lot of Florida fans didn't really care when he first left because a lot of them thought John Brantley was going to replace Tebow as their quarterback anyway

I love revisionist history.

So his 5-10 passing for about 50 yards in a gator uniform was that impressive to you?

Or is the Blinn JUCO coach a QB guru?

Revisionist history would be to say that Newton made leaps and bounds at auburn. He came ready to win a heisman.

So the JUCO coach is responsible for his development then?

Because he was 6-12 for 54 yards with 0 TDs during his time at UF.
