From Upper Marlboro, MD. Main competition was Ohio State and UNC.

Always nice to bolster the recruiting pipeline from the DMV area.

A stronger USCe means a weaker Clempson and I'm all for it

Really solid class for Beamer. 6 top 250 kids, 10 top 400.

Any big fish (Top 100 guys) that Carolina has a good shot at?

Nyckoles Harbor is the one to keep an eye on for us.

Brian Dohn (247) said "I think South Carolina sits in the best spot of any of the schools." Long way to go there though.

I think that makes four 4-star defensive lineman in this class for us.

Lots of debate on OSU boards. He may not have been a take but not sure. Apparently LJ loved him as DL coach, but the rest of the staff was not as high on him.

He has an incredible frame to put on 20 lbs

Edit: there was some chatter he badmouthed the staff after a recruiting weekend that honestly seemed awful.

OSU had like 15 bigtime names in town for one weekend and everyone was really pumped. OSU got none of them

If I was a coach, he would be on offense. Calvin Johnson 2.0

Overall I’m really impressed with how well Beamer is recruiting. You guys are sitting in good spots for a lot of good 2024 players also. One positive observation and one negative observation about your 2023 class.

Positive- You’re recruiting at top 10 level on the offense and defensive line. You’re quickly gonna have good depth there also.

Negative- The skill positions are bottom of the SEC level. Not that there aren’t any good players. I like Sandy alot at Safety and your RB but my worry if I was a South Carolina fan is that the class is too lopsided.

I think he will want to be on the offensive side of the ball bc of his track aspirations and desire to be an Olympian. He will have to maintain his weight around where it is currently to maintain the speed he runs in track. If we, or anyone, tries to use him defensively they will likely want him to add weight and that won't jive at all with his track aspirations.

Can't say I disagree.

WR recruiting has been particularly underwhelming. We can't rely on the transfer portal each year and Coach Stepp's recruiting prowess largely has yet to come to fruition in his time at SC - we've whiffed on a couple targets now.

Our TEs should be lights out this year, however.

He could certainly play TE and maintain his weight for track while also being used as an edge rusher strictly on 3rd downs for the defense.

No doubt Beamer is telling him that he can do whatever he wants.

Oh I agree about Beamer. Harbor is absolutely capable of playing both ways. The kid is a freak of nature athletically. It blows my mind a guy of his size is as blazing fast as he is.
