Dafuq? Well, if that's his dream school and what he wants, good luck to him. Although, I read that Coach Ward is still going to recruit him hard, so this could just be another Wes Green/Arden Key thing, we'll see what happens. Good news is it happened early enough that if he doesn't flip back, we can recruit other guys. Rivers is a great player, he'll do well wherever.

I'd say this is different since Green never committed to UGA and I don't think the ”pro UGA” coach can be an excuse here.

I meant it as, "we're SC, we're gonna get who we want."

Oh and I think y'all lost your dogs, Jefferson and Topher started sniffing around our board last night, somebody come pick 'em up or we might have to put 'em down.

Already committed to 2 schools and plays for SMS. His recruitment could be fun. Nice talent though, for sure.

I’m not following you here. Green and Key, at this moment, are in different situations. I understand both were committed last fall, both attended the same high school, but only one has recommitted. Especially since many recruiting pundits believe Key ends up at UGA.

FWIW, my personal opinion is SCAR is the team to beat, but don’t sleep on Auburn. I think UGA is much higher on D’Andre Walker, Natrez Patrick, Roquan Smith (more of an ILB) and Mehki Brown. With Chauncey on board, spots will be limited.

I don't know man. With EEs we could take 29-30 this year.

Of course we are, they are all better at this point than Key. They won't all play the same position though, so they won't all affect each other. Walker and Patrick would have the most affect on Key unless he starts packing on weight.

I should rephrase, I meant at the OLB position. I know we are looking at 3 rush linebackers (Mehki, Natrez, and D'Andre) appear to be the top choices. I know they like Roquan at Mike LB. Add Rivers to the equation, who I expect to line up at Sam, and our situation looks a lot less appealing for someone like Key.

We are going to load up on he best talent available no doubt. I like the 29-30 number.

No sir. Nothing from UF end. Kids that have been committed to 2 schools this early tend to have some drama in their recruitment though.

According to Rivers Georgia is switching to a 4-3. First time I've heard anything about that.

Rivers is being recruited as a DE. Mehki would probably be DE too. Natrez and D'Andre are probably rush backers, but Natrez can be ILB too. Roquan is inside.

Same here. FWIU we are still technically a base 3-4, but are multiple. So we're actually a base 3-4/3-3-5/4-3/4-2-5 defense.

Unless these 4-3 rumors are true, there is no way in hell Rivers lines up at DE in a 3-4 set. He’d have to put on 40-50 pounds, that’s not happening. I can maybe see Mehki, but he is in a similar boat except he has the frame to carry the extra weight. But he is dead set on Rush LB. Although he’d be better suited at Sam, since he has the strength to engage blockers and the speed to cover the sideline.

Natrez is best suited outside. His skill set is at DE (4-3) or Rush/Bandit (3-4). And for Roquan, Mike LB is inside, and plays to the strength of the field FYI.

I’m curious to see if the 4-3 rumors are true.

This is impossible, it's like saying we're a base everything defense. If you disagree...

USC runs the spread, HUNH, wishbone, triple option, zone read, fun n' gun, pro style/west coast offense.

UGA will be a base 3-4. Point is we're going to be very multiple and want personnel to fit whatever we're trying to do at a given time.

pruitt can literally sell the world and there's not enough video on him to prove what he's selling his false... FSU ran a bunch of four man front last year... but was that out of necessity, the offenses they were playing, or his own phylosophy?

JP is in a unique situation that makes his recruiting pitch very effective (not to mention the fact he's a great recruiter to begin with)... as he coaches more games and people see exactly how he uses his personnel, it might get a little more difficult.

Or easier. If he continues to win at UGA as he won at FSU, kids will be lining up to play for him. Regardless of scheme.
