And any grown man, if that is what you are, using butthurt is borderline homo. No offense, but that term is so played out and over used. I think it says more about the person using that term than anything else. With that said, the whole “butthurt” thing doesn’t really apply seeing as UGA’s class was better.

Who said i'm a grown man? I'm in college, and butthurt is a pretty common phrase around these parts. But that's a classic diversion tactic, attack the man instead of the argument. It's what happens when you know you're beat.

And if UGA's class was better, then why were we ranked higher? Correct me if i'm wrong, but don't rankings create an order of quality? Our 33 person class is better than your 23 person class both in quality and in quantity. We can argue about this for days, but the fact remains. Our top 20 are better than your top 20 (quality), and 23<33 (quantity).

Negative ghostrider. Go play with the class calculator on 247

UT surpasses UGA's point total at commitment #25

Well, I went to rivals and added the points for each of Uga 21 commits. I then added UTs top 21. Georgia's total came to 121.4, UTs was 123.

We're not gonna go anywhere with this argument, There's just too many sites and variables. It's turned into a pissing match

I'll take our higher ranked, deeper class. Not a chance I would trade with Georgia. Most experts would say the same thing. Thats not to say that Georgia doesn't have a great class.

thats a pretty subjective statement there, bud

It is indeed. My response was essentially a show of contempt for your question of why my opinion matters. It was a stupid question because I am perfectly capable of offering a cogent and meaningful opinion on an issue not involving Vanderbilt, just as you are (in theory) capable of doing the same on an issue that does involve Vanderbilt. Nor would I challenge your right to do so except insofar as I would challenge (or agree with, depending) the actual opinion proffered on the subject.

I understand what you're saying, but you are going really out of your way to sound pretentious, and it's coming off as snobby. Just saying.

The needs are different. If I'm Tennessee -- and, indeed, if I'm Vanderbilt -- I'll take UT's class because it offers more opportunities to rebuild and develop a program in transition (from terrible to, well, hopefully less terrible in UT's case, and from one good staff to a completely new and unproven staff in Vandy's case.) The top of UT's class is stocked with a range of defensive (especially line) positions and skill positions, most of whom are quite good and provides a lot of room to cover the bases in case some don't pan out. But more than half their class is at 3 stars, and none of them are 5 stars. That's a solid recruiting effort for UT's needs -- they're going to be highly inexperienced this year, and have to almost completely replace lines that weren't exactly great to begin with -- and it's why they rank so high despite not having a single recruit widely regarded as a 5 star. Butch did a good job, but he wasn't recruiting to match Bama or LSU-type classes, he was recruiting to create a solid foundation for the future.

If I'm a team already stocked with talent and proven coaching, like UGA, LSU, or Bama, otoh, I'll take UGA's class because it's more focused on elite talent in specific positions, especially since they're replacing an elite college quarterback and will soon be replacing an elite running back. Granted, I think Carter is a bit overrated, but overall, UGA's class is geared toward a team that has a bit more leeway and luxury to patch holes in its roster. So UT's class' breadth of solid talent is great for a team like UT (or Vandy) while UGA's is somewhat more focused on the sort of cherry-picking UGA (or LSU or Bama) can afford to focus on.

Who?

Oooooh, right...the guy whose attempt to commit formed the nucleus for this thread. Are we still talking about this relic of a bygone era of the SECRB?

That was my intention, actually. I was being an arse because it was a (admittedly immature) way of expressing my opinion your statement. I shouldn't have done it that way, but we all turn into assholes on Internet message boards sometimes. I apologize forthwith, though I can't absolutely promise not to do it again. You're trying to hard to play the stero typical Vanderbilt fan, on a online message board. Lol, why? We get it bro, you have immaculate sentence structure and punctuation. You still sound like a meat flute
