Williams is a DE for us. His commitment should have zero effect on Lawrence.

Oh yeah? Well, Alexander and Logan are DEs for LSU, and Taylor too if he commits to us - wink, wink - so take that.

At Bama, they just shuffle guys around wherever they like in their heads to convince themselves that they are getting whoever they want. It's an interesting phenomenon.

Um, Quinnen Williams literally stated in his announcement ceremony that he will start out as an end for Alabama.

In our base set, what else would he play?

At Bama, we like to recruit a 265 lb guy to play the same position as a 305 pounder. You just read our coaches' minds.

I hope that you can get in touch with Quinnen Williams and inform him that he is only a tackle because he seems a bit delusional:

quote:

"I was recruited to play defensive end. I feel like I fit in really well at Alabama. They have a very good background with defensive ends. They have Da'Shawn Hand there now. I am really cool with him."

Clearly message board geniuses like you and FT know better than Quinnen about which position he is being recruited to play in college.

Since you know so much better than we do about where a player will play, tell us where a 265 pound player fits in our system. We have just one DT under 300 (290 lbs), with most of the DTs being 315.

Meanwhile our starting DE, who is likely headed to the NFL after this year, weighs 272. Which one do you think Quinnen is closer to, 272 or 300?

I don't care I don't pay attention to what measureables bama players need to play certain positions. I just think it's funny you believe just because he said what he's been told it makes it obviously true. Coaches from all schools lie about that kind of stuff all the time.

Was your comment relevant to this discussion? Right now we are talking about Quinnen Williams, thus the name in the thread title "Quinnen Williams". If you would like to discuss Brent Calloway's position, feel free to do so in a thread entitled "Brent Calloway."

As it is, we are discussing Quinnen Williams' position in college. It looks like he will play DE unless he bulks up about fifty pounds. Of course, there is no way of knowing how his body will respond to the S&C in college. But right now it is perfectly reasonable to assume that at 6'4 265, he will likely start out at DE.

You sound very mad. Savages point was dead on. Just because a player thinks he is going to get to do something because a coach tells him that to get him committed, certainly does not mean it will happen

Recruiting tricks are recruiting tricks. its a very easy point to see
