Native of Killeen, Texas. Texas Longhorns was the other major suitor. Thornton had 75% CB LSU, 25% CB Texas prior to commitment on 247. Another weak side defensive end player with versatility. Has the ability to end up a 4-3 DE, a 3-4 LB, or a MLB.

He apparently committed to the staff last Thursday but wanted to let everyone know on his own.

Aren't you the guy that complains every time A&M uses that when they get a LA commit?

We recruit LA every year. There was plenty before and after Speedy.

Yeah, plenty that didn't have any offers from LSU (minus Speedy of course ;))

You're right, speedy and Irvin smith are the only ones recently with LSU offers. Very tough to pull Louisiana kids with tiger offers.

That goes both ways. Also Texas is too big and shared by too many teams to keep a border up.

No, "all that" for hauling in some top Texas recruits, especially DBs, the past few years....
and we're the frontrunner for Monroe right now....

Just like LA, Texas produces fabulous football players, only there are lots more of them in Texas due to population size, and LSU is certainly getting our share.
