I don't believe they have Clowney as the #1 player of all time. He is tied for #1 with 6 other players. It looks like they alphabetize by the last night, hence why Clowney shows at the top, and Young is at the bottom.

I remember Fournette, Barkley, Clausen and Peterson's recruitment being way bigger than some of those guys ahead of them. Maybe its just the positions they played, but there was a ton of hype around those guys.

It just shows how far behind in recruiting UGA is from the big boys.

I assume that's sarcasm?

I don't care if we could get the top 4 players in the country to come all at once, I wouldn't unretire our jerseys for them.

I was just talking about how far behind FSU, Bama, and others we are in terms of recruiting.

4-5*'s for each Big 6 team... Just thought it was interesting... The numbers reinforce the "UGA does less with more" mantra. Also looks like AU has overachieved vs other Big 6 teams...

Bama... 42 five stars... 152 four stars... 196 ttl. 4-5*'s... 3 MNC's... 4 SECC's

LSU... 27 five stars... 174 four stars... 201 ttl. 4-5*'s... 2 MNC's... 4 SECC's

UF... 38 five stars... 166 four stars... 204 ttl. 4-5*'s... 2 MNC's... 3 SECC's

AU... 15 five stars... 128 four stars... 143 ttl. 4-5*'s... 1 MNC... 3 SECC's

UGA... 28 five stars... 147 four stars... 175 ttl. 4-5*'s... 0 MNC's... 2 SECC's

UT... 21 five stars... 136 four stars... 157 ttl. 4-5*s... 0 MNC's... 0 SECC's

To be fair, Cam Newton was like having 12 5*s in 1 player

Pretty cool feature.

It is very cool, thanks for sharing. I give it two thumbs up. It's very interesting to see how some extremely high players flamed out and some lower rated players became All Pro.

Looking at the all-time top recruits for A&M:

#4, #6, #15, #16, #20, #22, #23, #26, #29, #31, #32, #33, #38, #42, #45, #51, #55, #58, #63, #65, #76, 3 tied at #81, #96, #98, and #100 never played more than 2 full seasons.

That's 27% of the top 100 of all time.

#15 A.P.
#23 Julio
#48 Berry
(maybe a few others that are solid starters)

Are the only "star" NFL players of the top 50 at this point in time. Proves how things can change over time and how difficult it is to go from being a great HS player to a great professional player and staying healthy long enough to have a pro-bowl type NFL career.

Good proof that this is to some extent a guessing game

Being an great athlete is the most important part of a ranking.
