I have a feeling you didn't attend UA because you were not accepted.

So the date moved up now:
I literally don't think that there is any school this kid could pick that would surprise me at this point.

The announcement date for five-star wide receiver Demetris Robertson (Savannah, Ga./Savannah Christian) has changed. The 5-11, 175-pound senior, considered the No. 1 prospect in the 2016 class, will now publicly commit to either Cal, Georgia, Georgia Tech or Notre Dame on Sunday at 1 p.m. at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta.

Nope surprise commit to Auburn.

I think he has probably surpassed any attention whore in this day and age of recruiting. Good luck to whomever on derecruiting him.

Is the consensus opinion UGA?
Posted on 4/27/16 at 10:21 am to phaz
I don't think anyone really knows but that's where most people are leaning.
Posted on 4/27/16 at 10:25 am to phaz
Id say I'm cautiously optimistic

to be fair, I think a lot of this is more centered around carlos.
And yeah the consensus is UGA. In fact I would be absolutely stunned if he doesn't pick us.

I don't see how anyone could be "absolutely stunned" no matter wtf he does... but I agree with the general sentiment that all signs seem to point UGA. Class of 2017 UGA commits planning on attending, visiting UGA after track meet nearby... but I'm still not certain he doesn't up and quit playing football altogether... focus on studies.

I don't think Carlos had him post a picture of him with the Alabama coaching staff the week before his commitment. Face it. He's an attention whore.
Some attention whores pan out, others don't. But taking your recruitment past NSD, visiting everywhere (still), resorting to trolling after NSD, and still having a huge announcement at the cfb hall of fame is the poster child for attention whore.

don't be pissy because he's not going to your school.
Carlos is the one thirsting for the spotlight to give interviews. Carlos was the one wanting to take an extra trip up to ND just because he hadn't been there before. Carlos is the one telling the media they'll be somewhere one day then the next day cancel.
DR, by all accounts, seems to be a normal teenage kid going through the process. His handler is the one who seemed hellbent on keeping the family name in the spotlight.
it's not THAT uncommon, especially given their reasoning. Stanford was his dream school (and that's a hell of an education there) and he wouldn't get his test scores back til April.
still? Where is he still visiting?
lol
you realize that although he lives in savannah most of his family lives within 20 minutes from downtown atl, plus he has a track meet in north georgia this weekend.

All signs point him choosing the dawgs Sun. What if in a couple of weeks he receives his latest SAT scores and does indeed qualify for Stanford? Apr. 1st is long gone so he can't sign a LOI with UGA, I guess I will really believe once he's officially enrolled and on campus. IMO Robertson is the most explosive player in this class so he would be a huge get and the 1st time in program history UGA bagged 4 5 stars.

According to recent interviews, this commitment will be final... fwiw. He *might* receive scores this weekend but sounded like it's likely not til next week last I heard.

Ultimately though, this. Can't fault the kid for wanting to make the right decision... could probably have done with a little less drama around it, but that's largely created by media + fans... I don't see him actively seeking it out really. He's not calling the reporters to write stories up.

Calling a kid an attention whore isn't getting pissy. Reuben Foster was an attention whore during his recruitment, and that seemed to work out fine for us in the long run.
It's amazing to me how UGA fans' perspective has changed now that it appears Robertson is trending your way.

Fair point, and I typically will call a spade a spade. My whole stance throughout this ENTIRE process though, which you can see both in this thread and on our board, is that most of these shenanigans are result of carlos. Yes, of course I blame DR a bit for dragging this out but I think the majority of the "attention whoring" has been because of his brother.

My views on carlos have never changed since day 1.

Meh. It's altogether possible that Robertson wanted his brother to speak on his behalf.
And, again, to make a huge deal about academics and pick the third best academic school among his finalists says something.

So, he is going to see Kirby tonight and the assistants are at the track meet?
