Evan and Elliott say they don’t have a leader, but both mentioned that they like Auburn. Their football and track teammate, Josh Holsey, signed with Auburn last February and the twins are longtime friends with the son of Auburn assistant Trooper Taylor, w ho recruited Eric Berry for Tennessee. The twins said their brother and father aren’t pushing any schools on them.

“My dad is a Tennessee fan and loves Tennessee,” Evan said. “But he always says that it’s our decision to pick a college. It’s the same thing with [Eric]. He tells us to make the right choice, that it’s going to be our decision and not to rush it.”

How good are they compared to Eric?

Is one clearly better than the other?

Do they want to go to the same college? Package deal?

Exactly. I hear a lot about them, but I don't think I've ever seen a good break down of the kids play or their ranks at their respective positions?

So Trey Johnson is in constant contact with Lawson and Cameron Toney. They will all be in Auburn for A-Day.

quote:

Johnson, who committed to Auburn last August, has been helping the Tigers build their 2013 class. He stays in close contact with 4-star defensive end Carl Lawson, who committed a couple of weeks ago, and 4-star linebacker Cameron Toney, who currently lists Auburn and Tennessee as his top two schools.

Johnson plans to be at Saturday’s A-Day game along with Toney and Lawson.

Also this on Toney:

quote:

Toney, 6-foot-3 and 225 pounds, keeps in close contact with the Auburn staff including a talk with coach Gene Chizik Thursday night.

“We stayed on the phone about 15 minutes and we talked about a lot of things,” Toney said. “They lost a linebacker to an injury and we talked about that. We were talking about how everything has changed on defense. How they have a great defensive line and they’re coming together. We talked football and we talked about my spring break when I went down to the beach.

“...He’s great. I’m proud that we have a great relationship. Just talking on the phone and him remembering who I am and writing me on Facebook like twice a week -- our connection is real tight.”

They are definately riding the Berry name. Not that they are not good players, but it thier last name was Smith they probably would not be getting as much attention.

If memory serves, I don't think there's anything NCAA has done or can do wrt Facebook.

Text messaging? Yeah.

True. I knew that the NCAA had looked into it but couldn't remember the outcome.

I think they treat it as emails as long as you don't post it on their facebook wall.

#2 running back, Ty Isaac

quote:

"I talked to Coach Luper briefly last week and I will try and get in touch with him again this week," said Isaac, 6-foot-3, 215 pounds. "I met him during my visit and really liked him. I really liked all of the coaches."

quote:

"When I visited, I really liked it," he said. "There was just something different about it, and not in a bad way. It was a good different. I liked the people there. I just got a good overall vibe at Auburn.

"I would like to go back, but I don't know when I would. I really don't have any idea what I'm going to be doing the rest of the spring and summer."

Said he will commit when it feels right, and that he's only going to visit schools he's interested in.
