At last he admits to playing games
I never thought he would end up at LSU, but I'm surprised he would rather go there than AU.

"I committed to Miami," Dobard said. "I wanted to surprise everybody. I knew what I was going to do, just played games. Once I got to Miami (for an unofficial visit today) and I saw what I needed to see, boom, I made it happen."

Standish Dobard just pulled the trigger for ...... Miami
Dont want anyone with the name Standish anyways. But seriously never heard of him.
2 two true soph and 2 incoming freshmen, we really dont need TE in this class. Esp since we have low numbers.

Recruits just don't know what goes on at other schools like a lot of us do... Miami is going to get HAMMERED with probation in the near future, and Dobard/Bush (Deon Bush) will both regret choosing Da U over Auburn.

Cooper Bateman
quote:
“This place was awesome,” Bateman said. “I’ve been (at the Auburn athletic complex) since a little bit before 7:00 this morning sitting through meetings. Coach Loeffler, the offensive staff, it was awesome. I got to see the campus. I got to see everything Auburn offers. It was an experience, no doubt.”
quote:
Bateman, 6-foot-3 and 195 pounds, said he’s spoken with Auburn offensive coordinator Scot Loeffler over the phone more than any other college coach. He was thrilled to finally meet him in-person. “Words only go so far. Meeting him in person was awesome,” Bateman said. “I’m glad I got that opportunity and I’m glad I got to sit through his meetings.” Bateman was also able to see Loeffler in action at Wednesday morning’s practice. “The way he carries himself, I love it,” he said. “He’s a high energy guy. Seeing him out on the practice field, he lets you know where you stand, what you did wrong. He will get in your face but at the same time, he’ll tell you what you did right. I love that about him.”

Good to hear Loeffler is making good impressions, be extremely nice to pull Bateman. Is he plannning an early commitment date?

It sounds like, for the first time in almost a decade, we actually have competent coaches across the board.

Before or after the season, I just can't remember which. I know he won't be a NSD guy.

Article from the 'bama 247 site (posted in their recruiting thread) has quotes of him saying he wants to commit before his senior season.

Article from ITAT says he'll take his last two visits to UF and Washington, sit down afterwards to compare all the schools, and make a decision.

Are these official visits he's taking?

So he is not visiting Bama?
Odd if true.

Don't underestimate the power of Chizik's slides.

AU is stacked as frick right now at TE.
Would like another good one to add to this class, but any coach that shows the depth chart right now for AU kills AU's chances.

I think he's supposed to be at Bama tomorrow during the day. I could be wrong though.

He has already visited Bama, the article was posted in the recruiting thread, and I think joeyb was referring to it earlier...

The 247 article said he visited LSU and Bama earlier this week.
