I'm still waiting on the standard party line "Good for him, he wanted so bad to be an aggy".

We arent even bothering with four star QBs anymore.

Glad some one else said it. I hinted to it earlier but didn't want to get into one of those angered fan debates. He also seems to sky lob a lot of his throws. You need a Mike Evans to complete that consistently. But I guess every player has something to work on coming in.

Actually I think his videos show better touch on deep balls than Mett and Jennings had. Both struggle on the deep routes so far. His complete motion however just has me a little curious.

Nobody on the LSUrb was thoughtful enough to raise the topic of lankiness, so this thread was much needed over here.

Not a problem. We aren't afraid to tackle the tough issues and burning questions over here.

BTW, in case anyone missed it and doesn't want to read back through, this kid is one lanky arse fricker. FYI.

Agree with both, mostly. I hadn't got around to it yet because we were still trying to convince the other poster that a good weight for 6'5" is more like 220-225 than the 205 that his 1880 BMI chart tells him. He doesn't have very good mechanics at all, though he has surprisingly good touch on his deep throws, especially considering how often he throws off of one foot. He has a very strong arm, but doesn't throw a tight spiral. He likes to do little pump fakes and things like that, but I don't think he uses them well or really knows what he is doing with them. Encouraging that he is at least trying it however, he has clearly not been coached to do it. Quite mobile (despite his beanstalk frame ) and always a threat to run, but a true dual threat that can be a great passer too.

If only Can Cameron and the coaches from Bama, FSU, UF, UGA, etc knew that this kid had unfavorable scouting reports from jealous sec rantards. Pull the offer.

This is the definition of an average body size

He is a football player. His body shouldn't be "average".

I hope you aren't talking about mine, because I was pretty damn positive about him. Only things that are really a negative about him are all coachable things that you don't expect HS senior QB to be great at. You can't coach athleticism, mobility, pocket awareness, and big arms. Franks checks all those boxes off though. The only boxes he leaves unchecked are things like footwork, throwing motion, how the ball comes off his hand, etc., which are all things that can be coached.

No jealousy, he is a great pickup. Just surprised, he was considered by most to be an FSU lean and I'm surprised he committed so early at all. He was the #2 guy on UGA's board at QB, so we definitely thought highly of him, but we'll be getting our #1, so it's not a big deal that Franks is off the board now.

A few months under Moffit and he'll put on some lean mass.

Nothing unfavorable. Also, no jealousy. He's a good quarterback for sure. We're set for a while in the QB department. Grats

NOLA.com had an interview with Cam the other day, and he stated upfront, that he likes a "RAW" talent at QB so he can teach them exactly how to improve their game and mechanics. He doesn't seem too interested in polished passers. I guess he wants to use the like clay and mold them into the QB/player he will prepare for a life in and outside the NFL.

I don't really understand why weight was such a big deal in this thread, he's what, 16? Still has 2 more years of high school.

I made an observation, not knocking the guy at all, acknowledging that he'll fill out and one of the LSU guys got defensive. Couldn't accept that a 16 year old was lanky.

I don't think it's that out of the ordinary for a high schooler to be that skinny, even if he is a football player.

Hell, Michael Clayton was skinnier than that his senior year of high school.

Weight doesn't bother me one bit when we have Moffit wanting to get a hold of him. I am interested in watching can improve his throwing motion and mechanics however
