But UTk's rivalry application is denied.

Oh I know it's a cesspool, I don't post there. Just check the recruiting forum every couple of days and came across that so I've kinda been following it

Well you got curb stomped in '09, and the past 2 years (2 of the best in SC history) you've barely squeaked by the 2 worst UT teams in history. Congrats, big 6 baby.

This dude is legit, he's literally called every move of this kid's recruitment weeks in advance.

"provided he qualifies."

Or you didn't read that part.

Also note where I typed in another thread, "Poona Ford, yeah, if we want him."

Ford is not a lock to qualify - not by a long long shot. We've got 15-17 schollies to give and we could not afford to burn one on a kid who may or may not qualify, among other things we've come to learn.

But, as I typed earlier, no sour grapes in the least. Good luck to Poona, seriously. I think it is absolutely great that he is getting a shot in the SEC - much better here than in the ACC like what happen to the WR kid from Gaffney last season. Ford is a playa ... when he wants to be.

Ah, so it's either SCe or Juco for Poona? That makes a ton of sense.

You're omitting '10 and '08. The point is that UTk has been "outrecruiting" USC for the 5 of the past 6 years (we had a higher ranking in '13), but USC has won 4 of the past 5 matchups.

Tell me more of the epic UTk recruiting championships over SC, and how they matter again?

I love how this thread has turned. Now all of a sudden recruiting rankings don't matter according to SCjr fans. Why the hell do you even visit this forum then?

No, they matter, just not for everyone, my case in point is what I've already wrote above. Some teams can just do more with what they have than others.

New update from 247 site says he plans to visit SC 3 or 4 times this summer and that he has no leaders. Sometimes his words get twisted the wrong way in other media sites so he's not doing updates much anymore... His leaders change often so this one will be a battle and we're not out of it yet!

Laugh if you want.... I am feeling really good again! His uncle doesn't like us much but it's something we can overcome...

I agree this isn't over until he signs the LOI next February. but I'll be honest. We want him and we'll be disappointed if he doesn't come to UT. I won't pull out the obligatory "we didn't want him", "he didn't have a commitable offer", or "he won't qualify" card if he goes somewhere else.

Pretty sure we want him, too. Lot of USC fans on this site have some pretty thin skin and take affront to any perceived slight, which of course only makes them look worse (looking at scrooster, here).

That area of SC is hard to recruit for the local schools. Lots of transplants, lots of military families. USC gets some traction there, but it's not like the rest of the state. It will be a dogfight. Urban is lurking, too. Some chatter from their guys a/b a visit in June and the outside possibility of a commit. Haven't verified it, though.

Oh jeezus. Seriously?

Poona Ford is not coming to SC. Only the fricking recruiting sites are pushing that nonsense. Sure, we've made his top five and sure, he's gonna visit but it ain't happening and it has absolutely fricking ziltch to do with thin skin. I could honestly give a shite one way or the other. We have no control over it, we never will, we trust our coaches and let it roll - they seem to be doing a good job right now but Poona Ford ain't gonna be a Gamecock.

Now frick you with your thin skin bullshite. I wish him well, but honestly, I seriously hope he does not sign with us because, and I wasn't going to type this but I will ... I think he would be bad joo joo for the team. He doesn't fit, there are better options out there and we can't sign'em all.
