Depends. I'd probably trade down. Fact is the QB draft is deep. You don't have to pick one early to get good value.
Clowney, Mack, Watkins, Evans, and Robinson are probably the five players I'd consider drafting number 1 overall.

Serious answer: Clowney. I know a lot of people like thinking he's lazy and what not but I think it's worth taking him with the 1st pick instead of missing on him and having to explain not picking him in a 30 for 30 fifteen years from now titled "Dodging Clowney: An NFL QB's worst nightmare and the worst decision in Houston franchise history".
He could be a bust. But he could just as easily be a HOF or at the very least a middle of the road, capable starting DE with the occasional "oh shite" play.
Houston owner is a USC grad.
O'Brien lost to Bortles in Happy Valley, so he knows what he can do. Probably is impressed by him and they hired UCF's QB coach I believe.

Does anyone remember LSU fans being even close to as bad as this when JaMarcus actually was the No. 1 pick? The amount of A&M pride in the fact that one of their former players could possibly go No. 1 is nauseating.
ETA: Or even GA fans with Stafford?
ETA again: Or even, dare I say, Ole Miss fans with Eli? I mean that had to be the closest.

What do you do with the first pick of the draft?
Trade it. Atlanta traded FOR the #1 pick in 2001 and got Vick. Meanwhile, the Chargers took flack for trading that pick and then went on to draft Ladanian Tomlinson (future HOFer) and Drew Brees (future HOFer). If I'm Houston, I learn from the Chargers' willingness to take flack while doing what is best for their franchise instead of caving to local pressure to draft a guy with tons of risk/reward.
Question is, can they find a willing trade partner?

Why?
Don't try so hard.
What's funny about it.

Anyone except JFF.
If it was me, I would trade to get more picks.
No real stars in the first round at QB this year.
If I had to pick a QB, it would be Bortles.

Clowney or trade back. Only clowns would do something else.
And which idiot downvoted every Clowney answer on the first page?
