Back in the 70s I think it was the Bears last year Alabama had 6 great running backs and were averaging like 500 yards a game rushing and our D held them to neg yards first half.I believe final score was 20-0.I went to so many Bama LSU games growing up and so many ended bad.

George Teague in the 1993 Sugar Bowl.

I can't find overall stats, but he had an INT for a TD, and of course the Strip. It's a rare moment when you return an INT for a touchdown against a Heisman winning QB and it isn't even your biggest play in the same game.

Derrick Thomas 1988 stats.

- 27 Sacks
- 39 Tackles for loss
- 7 Forced fumbles

Thomas also ranks 1st AND 2nd in 16 different defensive categories in Alabama history in regards to season and career stats. Dude was a monster.

82 was Bears last year , 1973 was the year we were an offensive machine , I think we had 870 yards ( 780 rushing ) approximately vs. Virginia Tech.

Was you at the famous 1979 3-0 Bama win in a driving rainstorm ?

Junior Rosegreen had 4 interceptions against Tennessee in 1 game back in 2004, if I remember correctly.

Yeah I remember that game. That's the best AU performance I can recall

Yeah that was 2003. Demeco played an amazing game to no avail, Alabama blew a 31-10 second half lead and lost 34-31.

Some of the games from fairly recently that jump out at me are Craig Steltz 3 INT vs. MSU and Minter's 20 tackle game vs. UF

3 INT in 1 game for a safety is just awesome stuff, Steltz also had a forced fumble that game on top of that...Corey Webster also had 3 INT against UF in 2002 against Rex Grossman

20 tackles probably happens for an individual for many teams in 1 game per year, but that was against a top team which made it really stand out...it's also not like UF was a team that could run 90 offensive plays in a game either making it much easier to rack up more tackles

I was reading about the 1962 Orange Bowl...Alabama vs Oklahoma.

Lee Roy Jordan credited with THIRTY ONE tackles and yes thats not a misprint.

Lee Roy was the man. My dad coached against him in HS. He told his guys not to get anywhere near him if they had the ball. Dad's team beat Excel that year....just barely but they beat them.

Bill Newton blocked two consecutive Alabama punts to see Langner return both for touchdowns. Not only did Langner return the punts for touchdowns in that game, he also intercepted two Crimson Tide passes, one of which on their final attempt to take the lead.

That's the "we beat the number 2 outta 'em, Maw!" game.

That led to the auburn fan putting the cam jersey on the statue.

That led to them silver maples getting killed.

Your turn.

Alex Brown vs. Tennessee 1999 - 5 sacks, really was the difference in the 23-21 upset of the vols (who were #2 at the time. That stands out right now.

My brother had the annual Bama year book that comes out about August every year and they listed all the 1979 games , but had the Bama vs. LSU game as 30-0
I told my brother that was BS to which he and my nephew were rolling in the floor laughing saying , you are FOS the books not wrong , that was 30 years ago bla bla bla.

But I was hugging my dads console radio ( not on tv ) nervous as hell , that fricking driving rainstorm leveled the playing field ... drive 70 yards fumble....... those were the days lol
