Worst Texas loss: UCLA 66, Texas 3 I believe it is the worst home loss by a ranked team in the history of college football. This same UCLA defense was so bad, the FBI investigated them at the end of the year.

Best Win Ever: Beating the declared GREATEST TEAM OF ALL TIME in their own city/state to win the national title.

Going off of games I have been in person for:
Loss- 05' Tenn OT, right after Katrina
Win- 03' UGA, LSU emerged as a powerhouse that was going to stick around.

4th and 3, down by 6. Street drops back to pass....he throws deep.

That TX team was one of the best I've ever seen. Ranks up there with OK in the '70's.

I was about to say this. For LSU maybe getting blown out by Ole Miss, Kentucky, and Houston in the same year (1999) or of course UAB the next year.

I can find nothing to corroborate that. We didn't field a team in 1917.

The University of Tennessee Athletic Council, chaired by Professor Nathan Dougherty, officially suspended varsity football during the World War I years of 1917 and 1918 because the majority of the players were called into military service. In addition, Coach John Bender was enlisted as an instructor at Camp John Sevier in Greenville, South Carolina

During this period without varsity football, two unofficial teams were formed from Army recruits and students. One team represented a training unit called the Fighting Mechanics and another the Student Army Training Corps (SATC).

Worst loss in recent memory for UF?
1995 Nebraska. I think Danny still has nightmares to this day about children of the corn in blackshirts pounding his arse into the turf.

I was 3 yrs old in '73. This could never happen in the modern era. 'Bama losing to a mediocre OOC team in a bowl game? Oh wait, never mind. . .

As a gambler, I still have nightmares about this game. On the bright side, I have lots of friends from UF; when they get out of hand with TTmania, I say ". . .and Tommy Frazier's STILL runnin'. . ."
