Pretty sure any Auburn list has to have Pat Dye.

You forgot Nick Saban for football

I would have put Nick, but he was only in Baton Rouge for 5 years. He didn't stay to earn an LSU Rushmore honor. He's a vagabond.

McClendon was head coach for 18 years and led LSU to many winning seasons, bowl games and SEC titles.
Bertman was at LSU, including AD, for over 35 years. and had 5 CWS titles and numerous Omaha appearances.

Dale Brown was at LSU for about 30 years and went to 2 Final Fours and several Sweet 16s.

Furthermore, Nick Saban lost less than 3 games in a season ONE TIME in Baton Rouge - 2003.
He had less draft choices than his predecessor, Gerry Dinardo, and won the same no. of bowl games as Dinardo.

I'm not hatin' on Nick. I just think a Mt. Rushmore honor should be for an "LSU man", which Saban clearly is not.

Yes he turned around the '98 and '99 losing seasons into 8-4 his first year, and won a NC in his 4th year, but.......he LEFT after that. He has been at bama longer than he was at LSU....

you both know Saban would be on there

Your opinion. To each his own I guess.

For LSU football, I think Bernie Moore (13 yrs), Paul Dietzel (7 yrs), Charlie McClendon,(18 yrs) and Les Miles (10 yrs and counting) have proved they deserve an LSU Mount Rushmore honor more than Saban.
Saban has been at bama longer than he has been at LSU, why would we want him representing LSU ???

Furthermore, Saban lost less than 3 games at LSU exactly ONE time - 2003, had less players drafted than Dinardo, and won the same number of bowls as Dinardo.

The above four accomplished so much more than he did for LSU.
Saban did win 8 games in his first year and 8 games in his 3rd year. Dinardo won 10 games his second year and 9 his third year.

Now had Saban stayed longer than Dietzel's 7 years, who knows. But who knows if Saban could have duplicated the success that Miles has had at LSU, including winning 34 games, a NC, and three Top 5 finishes IN HIS FIRST THREE YEARS.......

Spurrier
Holtz
Dietzel
Carlin

ETA: If basketball is included, then certainly Frank McGuire. Baseball is Ray Tanner.

But the four below, in my signature, are probably the best group of four combined in the league right now, when taken en toto.
