FWIW this is considered consensus for football:

quote:

As of 2009, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) recognizes the All-America teams selected by the AP, AFCA, FWAA, Sporting News, and the WCFF to determine consensus All-Americans. If three of these organizations select a player to their first team, he automatically receives the "consensus" honor. If a player is named an All-American by all five organizations, he receives "unanimous All-American" recognition.[2] Depending upon the distribution of first team honors at any given position, it is possible to be consensus with fewer than three first-team selections.

For basketball:

quote:

While an increasing number of media outlets select All-America teams, the NCAA recognizes consensus All-America teams back to 1905.[2] These teams have drawn from two to six major media sources over the years, and are intended to reflect the opinions of most college basketball experts. Today the four teams used to select consensus teams are: the Associated Press, The National Association of Basketball Coaches, the United States Basketball Writers Association and Sporting News magazine. Since 1984, the NCAA has applied a standardized point system to those teams designated as "major" All-American teams to determine consensus teams. The point system consists of three points for first team, two points for second team and one point for third team. No honorable mention or fourth team or lower are used in the computation. The top five totals plus ties are first team and the next five plus ties are second team

If I'm defining consensus correctly...

Auburn

Football - Reese Dismukes 2014

Basketball - None

Chris Porter and Wesley Person had the AP and USBWA in 1998 and 1993 respectively.

Chuck Person had the Sporting News and NABC in 84 and 85.

Barkley only had the NABC in 83.

Sorry guys, I misunderstood the question. Didn't know it was only for the last AA in each sport. My bad.

He didn't give a time period and he listed his team's 2002 AA, so I listed Bama's consensus AA's since 2000.

Because 02 was their most recent.

So he wants just the last player to be named all american. All right, my bad, Bama had 4 consensus/unanimous AA's for football in 2015 - A'Shawn Robinson, Derrick Henry, Reggie Ragland, & Ryan Kelley.

Don't know about basketball.

He was consensus 2nd team. UT's last consensus 1st team all American was Bernard King in 1977.

If used properly maybe CJ Conrad will get there in the next year or two for us. Man Abney was a beast.

Florida has never had a consensus All-American in basketball, surprisingly.

Joakim Noah was in 2007...

Damn, how was Neal Walk not a consensus AA? Walk led the NCAA with 19.8 rebounds a game and averaged 26.5 points per game his junior year

I thought the same thing...and did a little digging....turns out that it probably had something to do with the fact that he was in college the exact same years ('66-69) as Kareem Abdul jabar...makes sense that you may get over shadowed by arguably one of the best players of all time during the middle of probably the greatest run for a program in major sports history.

He was a man amongst boys as a freshman. You should've played against that dude in HS. He was scary.

I didn't play against Williamson but I did play one game against Scotty Thurman in high school (Ruston,LA.). I think he had about 6 3's and a couple dunks by halftime and sat the 2nd half. He wasn't even trying. Lol

No, he wasn't. Second team All-American.

Actually, he was. It's different from football...in basketball, you have a consensus first team and consensus second team...if you make either team, you're considered a consensus All-American...I'm guessin' this is due to the fact that if you make 1st or 2nd team, you're considered one of the top 10 players in the nation...
