Huh, I was born in Arkansas and went to Arkansas. I even went to UCLA for some business classes while at Arkansas. Just because I live in Los Angeles does not flaw my logic.
UCLA has to compete with USC for football recruits and which has been pointed out, they don't pay enough in their football department..
Round ball is king.
UCLA and Texas A&M are my two underachieving programs of all time though.
Edit: I now realized you were talking about yourself. I thought you were referring to my location on my profile.

It would be easier to win at TAMU or PSU, and winning at TAMU or PSU would be a lot more fun than the other places.
You are telling me you are forgoing the California lifestyle to coach at TAMU because it's easier?
I totally disagree with that. Penn State historically produces a lot of talent and is the only game in town like LSU.
ASU is the largest school in the country with one of the fastest growing regions. California is a stones through away and USC can only sign 25 of 350.

ASU probably a little bit better since UCLA and Ole Miss both seem to have expectations which seem unrealistic.
UCLA's are the most unrealistic.
they live in the shadow of USC. They have grandiose expectations.
Miss has to deal with being in the same conference with LSU, Bama and Florida. At least Mississippi actually has great players in high school, so its always within reach. so painful. like seeing jewelry in the Tiffany's window. I thought Nutt was going to do it. Two Cotton bowls.

Everyone has Ole Miss at the bottom..
I'm starting to think the SEC love is putting TAMU at the top.. I've yet to hear a justified reason for that placement.
If someone has one I'll listen.
UCLA = TAMU in every single aspect except College Station can touch living in Beverly Hills.

i rarely agree with you, but ASU is the best job opening hands down. They will be a force out west in the very near future.

Ole Miss should be a top job. You win 8 games and you're FB genius. Beat LSU or Bama on a down year and you'll be a God.

TAMU has a very loyal rabid fanbase that has shown in the past it will fund the program to get the best talent out there

Not everyone has your West Coast fetish. I thought it was only people from CA who actually believed everyone wants to live there.

They have never funded the program before..
Sherman at $2.2M was the 12 highest paid coach in the SEC. We will see if they step up or not.
Remember we are talking about a school that borrowed money from the University in the past.
So you are saying you'd put TAMU at the top because they have a rabid fan base? That's it?

ASU is in the state of Arizona.
Forget lifestyle, ASU is a much better job than TAMU.
ASU has AZ
TAMU has OU, Texas and now LSU for the same recruits.

Paterno U...Tradition, tainted as it may be
ASU....PAC 12 sucks, Petrino is stealing all their recruits
UCLA...
OM.... The other SEC Mississippi School

Homerism at it's finest, which is fine because the SEC is the best and I hate the Pac12 junk out here, but..... Thinking objectively makes me place TAMU towards the bottom for the reasons I listed prior.
Pac12 TV contract will do what it did for the SEC. WSU just hired Leach and in the article it stated they never wouldn've been able to hire him if it wasn't for the upcoming $20M per team.
The game will change in the Pac12 but the passion is still better in the south.

By default really. It is possible to have some success at OM, and the expectations aren't very high

That is my reasoning. That and Texas being a recruiting hotbed.

I am biased but here goes:
Texas A&M - If you can win big here you will be a god. Good facilities and recruiting area.
Penn State - Would be top, but following JoePa is almost an impossible task. Scandal also hurts.
ASU - While AZ would be a great place to live I don't think the program would treat a winning coach as well as A&M or Penn State.
Ole Miss - Tough all around job, not interested in being at a miss school.
UCLA - Don't want to go to a basketball school.
