The official play-by-play. I get it thru the AP, and it's searchable that way (for instance, searching the words "penalty" and "first down").

I don't know of any site that keeps it, and they aren't official NCAA stats.

Normal game stats show how many first downs each team got by penalty.

I give zero fricks what you are trying to prove. Bama gets protected til the game is in hand, then the whistles begin to even things out.

I'd like to see first half penalties vs. second half penalties, broken down by offensive and defensive, and also situational penalties and their results (automatic first downs, replays, etc)

I don't believe those are correct though.

While I'm not saying my hasty research is perfect, I can't find 8 first downs by Bama that came via penalty. I found 6, and then there are 2 others that were tacked on after Bama got the first down anyway. While technically the penalty added another first down's worth of yardage, Bama would have have the first down even if the flag had never been thrown.

But again, I'm playing amateur statistician, and I could absolutely be wrong.

In a year where all of Bama's SEC rivals/enemies have either been humiliated by outside forces or shot themselves in the foot, it's fitting that we are also dead last in penalties.

Just complete and utter domination.

One could theorize that Alabama cheats so much more than everyone else that they get caught a lot more often than everyone else.

I have a theory: You're really fricking butthurt.

Against A&M in 2012 Bama was called for targeting giving A&M a huge chunk of yards and lead them to a score. Then later Eddy Lacy was hit helmet to helmet by an A&M defender and there was no penalty thrown at all.

Then late in the game Bama is about to get the ball back and get a chance to go for the win. A&M was punting and intentionally drew Bama offsides by moving, which is illegal and yet the penalty was called on Bama and A&M kept the ball and kneeled. Bama would have won had the gotten the ball back. Many major calls in that game went against Bama.

Auburn game 2013 and late in the 4th on consecutive 3rd and 4th and 1 plays Yeldon picks up the first and is given a terrible spot on both and Auburn takes over and scores their next to last TD on the next series.

This year against Ole Miss Hurts was drilled helmet to helmet and fumbled the ball and Ole Miss picked it up and ran for a TD to go up either 17or 24-3.

There are many many more examples.

There are many more but people just choose to see a call here and there that goes Bama's way.

For the last 3 years Bama's opponents have been getting the major judgment calls about 3-1 over Bama.
