2011 is TOTALLY different than 2005. For both LSU and UGA. LSU 2011 is worlds better than 2005 LSU.

And 2005 UGA was worlds better than 2011 UGA. Plus you won't get the benefit of LSU playing 12 straight weeks

I would definitely not say worlds better. You just think that team is much better but in reality they were not that much better. that team just had more household names

idk man, this could be an interesting debate. i may even take the 2005 squad

2005 vs 2011

QB: push
RB: 2005
FB: 2005
WR: hard to decide, i may actually go with 2011
TE: push
OL: 2005

DL: 2005
LB: 2011
S: 2005
CB: 2005

K: 2005
P: 2011

HC: 2005

2005 we should have been 11-1 regular season, UF was a total frick up and if shockley plays we win, idc what the history said. hell, joe t almost pulled it out. idk if we even lose to AU if we beat UF and shockley isn't coming back from injury. that team was special imho

I do think 2005 team was better. But, I don't know if it's by a drastic margin.

The crowell who plays the whole game is more dangerous than our 2005 RB's. They were just much deeper.

If those teams played I don't think 2005 dominates.

And before LSU fans kill me I do not think UGA will win. I'm simply reminding that the last time we were in a similar scenario UGA beat the life out of LSU so it's not out of the realm of possibility.

i wasn't really arguing, honestly i kinda thought it was an interesting debate.

problem with crowell is his puss arse usually will tap out by then. i'll take a less talented but hard hitting/working thomas brown over crowell any day until crowell starts showing more endurance, perseverance, and maturity. but my main idea when i put 2005 > 2011 in RBs was depth. crowell is the best of them all but Crowell/Thomas/Harton <<<<<< Ware/Brown/Lumpkin.

i think if the two played it'd be a close defensive game but the 2005 defense would force more errors from the 2011 offense than vice versa IMHO

finally fwiw, i think we keep the SECCG close. comes down to our STs and Offensive mistakes because our defense has faced better offenses. i just worry about the others.

We're not going to kill you for that opinion. UGA in a veritable home game in Atlanta will not be easy.

But here's my one question: Had you had to play either or all of LSU/Bama/Arky, do you think you guys would be going to the SEC championship?

depends on when. if we play them pre UF, doubt it. post UF, eh idk maybe

Probably not. But a lot of teams could make that argument in many years depending on how the schedules fall.

No one felt sorry for UGA in 2008 when we had Bama/LSU or in 2009 when we had LSU/Ark. I get that our schedule is easier than years past but that's just how it goes sometimes.

we also would never play Bama/Arky/LSU in same season due to our rivalry with Auburn.

I second the thread originator.

Expect UGA fans to remain as confused as BSU though, regarding why they get no respect. Similar to them losing to UF an ungodly amount of times and acting like they're the superior program. Or having more arrests than any other SEC team under Richt but constantly talking about what a good man he is and how he's the type of guy you'd want running your program/coaching your son . Or the 6 personal fouls they got against AU's 5 last year, but losing their mind on the interwebs and radio for the last year talking about how out of control AU was...
If there is an self-oblivious fanbase in the SEC (all are guilty to an extent) it is most definitely UGA. Go undefeated once or sniff at a national championship once in the last three decades, or beat your top rival more than once every 5 years....then start barking. Till then, Sit.

As a service here is the cliffs:
1) UGA doesn't get that its schedule results in a lack of respect
2) you haven't won a title since the 80s
3) Richt recruits thugs
4) so thug-ish in fact that they got more fouls than Auburn last year.

That about covers it.
