Just because you run Mesh/Verts (Most teams do) doesnt mean youre an Air Raid team.

I didnt write the article, but since Washington is 130th is rushing attmepts, I will side with him regarding their air-raid principles. Carry your fight somewhere else.

DeBoer made it clear in his press conference that his offensive staff will tailor the offense to the skill set of the personnel. I don’t think he’s an Air Raid or Bust coach. He had a 1,200 yd rusher with a 5.1 ypc average last season. He’s pretty balanced.

He took that team to the NCG!

His recruits will be taking the field this fall. That’s why he left. They were looking at a 7-5 season. No Penix and no talent. Just like your team

1,777 rushing yards
5,155 passing yards.

The balance just hits you from the start.

Most schools tend to get guys with HC exp. Which they just did

Bama could’ve gotten anyone they wanted and they wanted a guy that doesn’t recruit, has zero ties south east of Colorado, has almost no track record outside on naia (zero athletic scholarships). Amazing. Fortunately he will bring his own staff with no recruiting experience or a system to run that will give them an edge.

I can’t wait to see this play out.

Thats still to be proven or not. Little easier to pull kids with the Bama logo behind you

Uh, yes I did earlier, but little ammo to defend him now.

Bama ‘s numbers in 2021:

2250 rushing
5073 passing

2020 national championship year:

2385 rushing
4656 passing

Pure rushing teams or rare in modern football.

This is great news. I hope Deboer fills out the rest of the staff soon so he has some help trying to keep all these transfers from getting worse.

Whether it's simply due to the personnel he's had or their actual philosophy, there's no way to pretend a DeBoer team has ever been balanced.

At least not in FBS.

Passing Yards Per Game:

2020: #6
2021: #9
2022: #1
2023: #2

Rushing Yards Per Game

2020 - #105
2021 - #90
2022 - #81
2023 - #102

Who cares? Win games. Isnt that what youre paid to do?

Personally, I wouldnt gaf if we ran the triple option as long as we won

Ppl get caught up in the old thinking that the term "balanced" means you run as much as you pass to keep the defense from loading up either way. Leach was the guy who came out and said Balance is making the defense defend the entire field, that can be done by distributing the ball among all of your wrs and running when the numbers are there to do so.

I swear to God, I think some in our fan base would rather have a coaching staff solely from the states of the old Confederacy and run a 1973 offense than win the damn national championship. I don’t care if the coaching staff is Southern, I don’t care if we run the ball, I want to approach the sport as it is in 2024, not how it was, and win the big trophy. Period.
