I'd love to be a liberal. It must be great living in la la land, not having to worry about pesky things like math and common fricking sense.

I could never root for UF/UA/UK.
I have a physics degree, work with linear accelerators, and lean liberal. Please tell me more about how I don't worry about math.

Nah, I don't believe that humans are 100% rational, frictionless spheroids. I believe that the government has an important role in regulating commerce. I do generally agree with keeping the government out of peoples' lives, though.

This thread is really showing some of y'all's true colors and quite frankly it's embarrassing. I hope some of y'all have gay children who want to get married,

(Would still love him, but still wouldn't agree with it. He will be judged in the end for his life not me)

or you lose your job and have to resort to unemployment or welfare/food stamps,

(I would find a job somewhere that didn't pay as much and swallow my pride. Not sit on my lazy arse and want a hand out)

maybe if some of y'all are lucky y'all can have to make the decision of whether to save your S/O or have an abortion.

(Don't agree with abortion - there is always somebody that will adopt it that can't have children, but that's their choice)

All of that shite mentioned above is stuff my family has had to go through. Stop being self-righteous pompous arse hats and actually think about somebody besides yourself.

Or quite feeling sorry for yourself bc every family rich or poor has problems.

Why do you assume he feels sorry for himself? Sharing the problems you have faced and using those experiences to make decisions about how our country should solve its problems does not = feeling sorry for oneself. It's pretty low class to take a swipe at him for that.

Well, liberals support dependence on government and Alabama fans are predominantly on government assistance, so pretty much a wash

Define "liberal" because I'm pretty liberal when it comes to social issues. Conservative when it comes to finances.

Have to be a Gator over a lib. Fixing this nation is more important than college sports.

Nice addition.

I also find it hilarious that many of the Auburn answers on here match many of the conservative sterotypes mentioned, (and not the good ones). So going back with the OP, no matter which one I chose; conservative or Auburn, I'd basically be the same thing.

Why not create jobs? We should embrace economic development. I'm sure it's nice as hell to get a check in the mail; however, at the end of the day, it's only hurting these families (long-term).

Just look at the families that receive hand outs - we are only hindering their opportunities & not allowing them to utilize the talents/gifts they were given.

Better a states business climate & jobs will follow

That isn't the basis of the OP. You can only choose between rival fan or liberal. Luckily for you you can just stay as a lib. Is it easy to get seaweed in Alabama or is it a hassle to order it from California?
